BettingDiaryWe take a look at the English Premier League matches taking place on Wednesday and Thursday and suggest a bet in each.

WEDNESDAY

CHELSEA v ARSENAL

Chelsea are 4th on the table and a victory here would move them above Leicester into 3rd and all but secure a Top 4 finish. They have won 4 and drawn 1 of their last 5, most recently beating Manchester City 2-1 on the road. Chelsea home games have been fairly low scoring, averaging 2.4 goals each with 10 of the 17 matches failing to reach the 3 goal mark.

Arsenal are 9th on the table and are coming off back-to-back victories at home to West Brom and away at Newcastle.

Arsenal won this fixture 3-1 earlier in the season and the last 5 matches between the sides in all competitions has seen over 2.5 goal backers collect profits.

Chelsea 15/20

Draw 28/10

Arsenal 39/10

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 19/20

The head-to-head stats sway me here as well as the fact that I think both sides will be throwing everything at this match to get the win.

THURSDAY

ASTON VILLA v EVERTON

Aston Villa are 11th on the table with just 1 win in their last 5 starts. Last time out they lost to Manchester United 3-1 at home and they have lost over 50% of their home matches this season. One stat that jumps off the page when looking at past results is that their last 6 matches have all had 3 goals or more in them with both teams finding the net.

Everton are 8th on the table and beat West Ham 1-0 away last time out. Prior to that they had beaten Aston Villa 2-1 at home.

Aston Villa 7/4

Draw 49/20

Everton 16/10

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 15/20

I am hoping the trend of high scoring Aston Villa matches continues and believe we are going to be in for an entertaining match.

MANCHESTER UNITED v LIVERPOOL

United are 2nd on the log and that is as good as it will get for them as Manchester City have wrapped up the title. United lost 2-1 at home to Leicester last time out and that was their only defeat in their last 10 matches. At Old Trafford they have been strong this season winning 9 and drawing 3 of their 17 fixtures and United home games averaged 3.4 goals each with 11 of the 17 games reaching the 3 goal mark or more.

Liverpool are 6th on the table with a game or two in hand over the teams above them. They have strung some decent League form together with 4 wins and 2 draws in their last 6 starts and last time out beat Southampton 2-0 at home. Liverpool have taken 10 out of the last 12 points they have played for on the road, but their away games have somewhat surprisingly seen under 2.5 goal backers collect more often than overs backers.

These sides played to a goalless draw at Liverpool earlier in the season and this fixture has been drawn the last 2 seasons.

Manchester United 19/10

Draw 53/20

Liverpool 14/10

Suggested Bet: Liverpool win at 14/10

Liverpool have more to play for of the two sides with an outside chance of a Top 4 finish and with Manchester United still involved in Europe I think we could see an away win here.
