BettingDiaryThe English Premier League continues after a short break and we select 3 of Saturday’s matches to have a bet on.

Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting markets where Manchester City remain firm favourites at 10/11 to lift the title ahead of Chelsea at 5/2, Liverpool at 9/2, you can get 15/1 about Manchester United and 125/1 and better the balance.

WATFORD v LIVERPOOL

Watford currently sit 15th on the log with 7 points from their 7 matches. They were beaten 1-0 away at Leeds last time out and their last home game was a 1-1 draw at Newcastle. Under 2.5 goal backers would have collected profits in 5 of the 7 Watford matches.

Liverpool are 2nd on the table 1 point behind the leaders, Chelsea and they are undefeated after 7 games. They are though coming off back-to-back draws, 2-2 at home to Manchester City and 3-3 on the road to Brentford and over 2.5 goal backers would have been in the money in 5 of the 7 Liverpool matches.

Watford 15/2

Draw 9/2

Liverpool 4/11

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 9/10

It is hard to oppose Liverpool in this game, but their defence has looked a little shaky in recent matches and I am backing Watford to join them on the score sheet.

LEICESTER v MANCHESTER UNITED.

Leicester are 13th on the table and haven't won in their last 4 starts with 2 draws and 2 losses. Their last 2 games have finished 2-2 away at Palace and at home to Burnley and 5 of their 7 matches have had 3 goals or more in them this season.

Manchester United are 4th on the table, but have only taken 1 point from the last 6 they have played for. Their last game was a 1-1 draw at home to Everton and prior to that they lost 1-0 on the road to Aston Villa. United’s games have been a fairly even split between high and low scoring.

This fixture finished 2-2 last season and Leicester won the reverse 1-0 at Old Trafford.

Leicester 26/10

Draw 26/10

Manchester United 11/10

Suggested Bet: Ronaldo, First Goal Scorer at 15/4

I expect we will get goals in this game and over 2.5 goals is currently trading at 7/10 with over 3.5 also tempting at 17/10. World Sports Betting also have a First Goal Scorer Promo where if you back any player to score first and your selection wins and scores a second time they will double your winnings in free bets. T&C’s apply.

Ronaldo has looked in cracking form since returning to United and the thought of doubling my money at 15/4 is just too tempting.

BRENTFORD v CHELSEA

Brentford are doing well in their first season in the Premiership currently sitting 7th, 4 points behind the leaders, Chelsea. Their last game was a 2-1 win at West Ham and prior to that they had a 3-3 home draw against Liverpool. Their only home win this season was the 2-0 victory over Arsenal on Matchday 1.

Chelsea are coming off a 3-1 win over Southampton which saw them go top of the table, prior to that they had lost 1-0 at home to Manchester City. They have played 3 times on the road taking 7 points from a possible 9 and their last away game was a 3-0 victory at Tottenham.

Brentford 11/2

Draw 29/10

Chelsea 6/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Chelsea (-1) at 16/10

I have been impressed with this Chelsea team and although Brentford can offer some early resistance, I think they will win this by more than a goal.
