BettingDiaryThere are 4 English Premier League matches taking place on Sunday and we suggest a bet in each.

BURNLEY v SHEFFIELD UNITED– Click Here to bet

The early kick-off sees 10th placed Burnley at home to 7th placed Sheffield United. Having taken a 5-0 hammering away to Manchester City, Burnley have bounced back well with 1-0 wins at home to Watford and away at Crystal Palace. They have won 50% of their home matches this season and have taken 11 points from the last 15 they have played for at Turf Moor.

Sheffield United shocked Tottenham 3-1 at home on Thursday night and they are 7th on the table. The result was surprisingly good since the end of the COVID-19 break they had failed to score a goal and had only taken 1 point from a possible 9.

Sheffield United won the reverse fixture 3-0 at home earlier in the season.

Betting

Burnley 19/10

Draw 2/1

Sheffield United 7/4

Suggested Bet: Burnley win at 19/10

I am going for Burnley to edge this one on the basis of their strong home record and that Sheffield United have really struggled on the road of late.

NEWCASTLE v WEST HAM – Click Here to bet

Newcastle are up to 13th on the table after very strong starts since play has resumed, taking 7 points from a possible 9 including a 4-1 hammering of Bournemouth away last time out. Newcastle have only lost 3 times at home this season.

West Ham are coming off a massive 3-2 home win over Chelsea, a result which has seen them go 3 points clear of the relegation zone in 16th spot. It was a timely victory as they had lost 3 matches in succession going into that game. Their away form has been poor this season and they have lost their last 7 on the road.

Newcastle won this fixture 3-2 at West Ham earlier in the season.

Betting

Newcastle 17/10

Draw 23/10

West Ham 17/10

Suggested Bet: Newcastle win at 17/10

West Ham will be pumped up after the Chelsea win, but I can’t ignore their record on the road and have been impressed with Newcastle in the last couple of weeks.

LIVERPOOL v ASTON VILLA – Click Here to bet

Champions, Liverpool host 3rd from last, Aston Villa in what should be a very interesting match. If Liverpool fans were hoping they would put on a dominant display away at Manchester City on Thursday they were disappointed as Liverpool went down 4-0 for only their second defeat of the season. They are back at Anfield though where they have won 16 from 16 and scored 44 goals while conceding just 12.

Aston Villa have only taken 2 points from the last 24 they have played for in the League and their most recent match was a 1-0 home defeat to Wolves. They have only won twice on the road this season, but can take heart from their last away match which was a 1-1 draw at Newcastle.

Liverpool won the reverse fixture 2-1 on the road.

Betting

Liverpool 7/20

Draw 9/2

Aston Villa 7/1

Suggested Bet: Liverpool, Handicap (-1) at 9/10

The question here is whether Liverpool are still in party mode or whether they are going to pull things together and, of course, team selection could also be interesting with some of their fringe players being given a run. Personally I think that Liverpool will want to put on a performance at Anfield even if their fans are not there to cheer them on.

SOUTHAMPTON v MANCHESTER CITY – Click Here to bet

The late kick-off sees 14th placed Southampton take on 2nd placed Manchester City. Southampton have won 2 of their last 3 matches and sitting on 40 points have no relegation concerns. They were too strong for Watford winning 3-1 away last time out and their last home game was a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal.

City may not have won the title, but they certainly made a statement on Thursday night with a 4-0 home win over Liverpool and that was off the back of a 2-1 away loss at Chelsea.

City won the reverse fixture 2-1 and both teams have found the back of the net in the last 4 matches in all competitions between the sides.

Betting

Southampton 8/1

Draw 9/2

Manchester City 7/20

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 9/10

I think this will be quite a free flowing affair and reckon these sides go 5 in a row of both teams finding the back of the net.
