BettingDiaryWe suggest a bet in each of the 3 English Premier League matches taking place on Saturday.

MANCHESTER CITY v LEEDS

Since getting defeated by Manchester United, Manchester City have reeled off 3 successive victories and are currently 14 points clear at the top of the table.

They were in midweek action in the Champions League where they edged Dortmund 2-1 at home in the first leg of their Quarter-Final tie and that was their 6th successive victory in all competitions and the Dortmund goal was the first they have conceded in 5 matches.

Leeds have climbed to 11th on the table after a good run which has seen them take 7 of the last 9 points they have played for. They beat Sheffield United 2-1 at home last time out and prior to that beat Fulham 2-1 on the road. In 15 away matches this season, Leeds have yet to draw winning 7 and losing 8.

Manchester City 3/10

Draw 5/1

Leeds 15/2

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Manchester City (-1) at 8/10

Over 3.5 goals at 11/10 was another bet I considered, but I am sticking with City to win by more than a goal as I think they will be too strong for Leeds.

LIVERPOOL v ASTON VILLA

Liverpool were beaten away in the Champions League in the week by Real Madrid and have it all to do to stay in that Tournament when they play the second leg.

Their form has improved in the League though and they have won their last 2 to sit 7th on the log, most recently beating Arsenal 3-0 on the road, but it is their home form that is a concern though and they have lost 6 in a row at Anfield.

Aston Villa are 9th on the log and are coming off a 3-1 home win over Fulham. That broke a run of 4 successive matches without a victory. On the road this season Aston Villa have won 7 and drawn 3 of their 15 matches.

Looking at the head-to-head stats between these sides Villa and Liverpool have played some interesting matches in the last couple of seasons. In the FA Cup back in January, Liverpool won 4-1 at Aston Villa, but last season in the League Aston Villa hammered Liverpool 7-2 at home in one of the shock results of the season.

Liverpool 6/10

Draw 34/10

Aston Villa 9/2

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Aston Villa (+1) at 14/10

For this bet to arrive we need Villa to either win or draw the game and given Liverpool’s poor recent home record as well as their midweek defeat in Europe, I think that Villa are big runners.

CRYSTAL PALACE v CHELSEA

Palace are currently 12th on the table and they have only lost 1 of their last 6 matches. Last time out they drew 1-1 away at Everton and their last home game was a 1-0 victory over West Brom.

Chelsea are 5th on the table, but they saw their long unbeaten run ended when they were shocked 5-2 at home by West Brom last weekend. It may well have been that they had one eye on their European match up with Porto in midweek which they won 2-0 on the road. Looking at goal stats, only 5 of the 15 Aston Villa home matches would have seen you make a profit had you had been backing over 2.5 goals each game and Chelsea away matches have seen only 6 out of 15 games reach 3 goals or more.

Crystal Palace 23/4

Draw 3/1

Chelsea 11/20

Suggested Bet: Under 2.5 goals at 7/10

This is a game where Palace would be more than happy with a point and I am expecting a tight match.
