BettingDiaryThere are 4 English Premier League matches taking place on Saturday and we suggest a bet in each of them.

LEEDS v TOTTENHAM

Leeds have enjoyed a successful return to Premier League football and currently sit 11th on the table. They did see a 6 match unbeaten run ended recently though when they lost 2-0 away at Brighton, but their last 2 home games were draws against Manchester United and Liverpool.

Leeds home matches have averaged 2.4 goals this season and had you been backing over 2.5 goals in each of those games you would have collected in 41% of them.

Tottenham are 6th on the table and are more than likely going to miss out of a Top 4 finish. They are unbeaten in their last 3, most recently beating Sheffield United 4-0 at home and their last 5 games have all delivered for over 2.5 goal backers with 4 of those 5 games reaching the 4 goal mark.

Leeds 5/2

Draw 57/20

Tottenham 1/1

Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 14/10

I am expecting this to be an open game and if recent Tottenham results are anything to go by, this is a big runner.

SHEFFIELD UNITED v CRYSTAL PALACE

Sheffield United will be playing Championship football next season and they are rooted to the bottom of the table, 9 points behind 2nd from last, West Brom. They have lost 6 of their last 7 matches, but did win their last home match 1-0 against Aston Villa.

Crystal Palace are 13th on the log and can assure their Premier League survival by getting something out of this game, not that it is really a factor as realistically they are already safe. They aren’t in the best of the form though with 3 successive defeats, most recently 2-0 at home to Manchester City and their last away game was a 2-1 loss to Leicester.

Sheffield United 39/20

Draw 9/4

Crystal Palace 31/20

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 12/10

This looks a decent bet as although Sheffield United home games have only reached the 3 goal mark of 35% of matches played, 62% of Palace games have gone over 2.5. With very little to play for, for both sides I think we could get an open game.

MANCHESTER CITY v CHELSEA

This is the big game of the weekend and a preview of the Champions League Final between the sides. City can wrap up the title with a victory here while Chelsea will be looking to consolidate their position in the Top 4.

Both sides progressed to the Champions League Final in midweek and looking at recent League form, City have won 6 of their last 8 losing 2, one of which was a shock 2-1 home defeat to Leeds.

Chelsea’s last 8 matches have seen them win 5, draw 1 and lose 1 with that loss also a massive shock going down 2-5 at home to West Brom.

Manchester City 19/2

Draw 49/20

Chelsea 13/4

Suggested Bet: The draw at 49/20

Both teams have something to play for here, but realistically City know they have won this title whereas Chelsea will be scrapping for points to ensure a Top 4 finish and I think they can grab one of them here.

LIVERPOOL v SOUTHAMPTON

Liverpool are 7th on the log, 7 points behind Chelsea in 4th position, but with a game in hand although with only 5 matches left to play. They are undefeated in their last 5 matches, but have had back-to-back draws at home to Newcastle and away at Leeds. Both teams have found the net in Liverpool’s last 3 matches.

Southampton are 15th on the table and can make themselves mathematically secure of survival with a victory here. They are battling for form and have only won 2 of their last 8 games and their last 2 away matches were defeats to Tottenham and West Brom.

Liverpool 3/10

Draw 5/1

Southampton 8/1

Suggested Bet: Under 2.5 goals at 31/20

I am basing this bet purely on price as although I agree that over 2.5 goals should be the favourite, 3 of the last 4 Liverpool home games have ended with unders backers collecting profits.
