BettingDiaryThere are 4 English Premier League matches taking place on Sunday and we suggest a bet in each of them.

SOUTHAMPTON v BURNLEY

Southampton and Burnley sit 14th and 15th on the table respectively, both are locked together on 33 points and almost assured of another season of English Premier League action.

Southampton have been battling of late though and have lost 4 and won 1 of their last 5 matches, most recently going down 2-1 at home to Brighton.

Burnley are in better form with just 1 defeat in their last 7 matches and last time out they shocked Everton 2-1 on the road and they have won 3 of their last 5 away matches.

Southampton 23/20

Draw 23/10

Burnley 11/4

Suggested Bet: Burnley win at 11/4

Burnley have an excellent record at Southampton with 2 wins and a draw in their last 3 visits and given Southampton’s current struggles I think they are well priced to win here.

NEWCASTLE v TOTTENHAM

Newcastle are 17th on the table just 2 points clear of Fulham who occupy the final relegation place. They are not in great nick with 3 wins and 3 losses in their last 6 and they were beaten 3-0 away by Brighton last time out. Their last 2 home games have been draws against Aston Villa and Wolves.

Tottenham have climbed to 6th on the table after a run that has seen them win 4 and lose 1 of their last 5. They beat Aston Villa 2-0 on the road last time out and prior to that lost 2-1 away at Arsenal.

These sides drew 1-1 at Tottenham earlier in the season and Tottenham won this fixture 3-1 and have beaten Newcastle on the road in their last 3 meetings.

Newcastle 9/2

Draw 31/10

Tottenham 6/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Newcastle (+1), the draw at 26/10

For this bet to arrive we need Tottenham to beat Newcastle by exactly a goal and in terms of betting value I prefer this to taking the straight 6/10 that Tottenham win the match as I think that Newcastle will provide some resistance.

ASTON VILLA v FULHAM

Aston Villa are 10th on the table, but without a victory in their last 4 matches. Last time out they went down 2-0 at home to Tottenham and they have only won 1 of their last 5 home matches.

Fulham were looking likely to climb out of the relegation zone, but a run of 3 defeats in 4 matches sees them sitting 2 points behind Newcastle and having played a game more.

Last time out they lost 2-1 at home to Leeds. Their last away game was a 1-0 victory over Liverpool. Fulham matches this season have been low scoring, averaging just 2 goals each and only 33% of the matches would have delivered profits had you being backing over 2.5 goals.

Villa were too strong for Fulham earlier in the season winning 3-0 on the road.

Aston Villa 13/10

Draw 23/10

Fulham 23/10

Suggested Bet: Aston Villa win at 13/10

Villa have enjoyed a good season and I think they can hammer another nail into Fulham’s relegation coffin.

MANCHESTER UNITED v BRIGHTON

Manchester United are 2nd on the table, 14 points behind City, but with a game in hand. They are undefeated in their last 9 matches and most recently beat West Ham 1-0 at home.

Brighton looked in danger of being dragged into the relegation battle, but back-to-back victories at home to Newcastle and away at Southampton sees them 16th on the log with probably just 5 or 6 points needed to ensure their safety.

Manchester United 13/20

Draw 63/20

Brighton 17/4

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 17/20

United’s games have been short on goals, but this bet would have arrived in Brighton’s last 3 League matches and it is the head-to-head form which also interests me as over 2.5 goal backers would have collected profits in the last 5 League games between the sides.
