CROATIA v SPAIN

This match takes place in Copenhagen.

Croatia finished as runners-up to England in Group D thanks to a 3-1 win over Scotland in their final game. Prior to that they had drawn 1-1 with the Czech Republic and lost 1-0 to the English.

Spain finished runner-up in their group after thrashing Slovakia 5-0 in their final game. They had been disappointing to that point losing a lead against Poland to draw 1-1 and despite dominating against Sweden in their opener they could only draw 0-0.

Croatia are a team that is capable of keeping things very tight at the back and I think that Spain are going to struggle to break them down. Overall though I think the Spanish will be too strong and I back them to win the game with less than 3 goals in total in the match that means I need a 1-0 or 2-0 Spanish victory.

FRANCE v SWITZERLAND

This match takes place in Budapest.

France topped what was a very tough Group F thanks to a 1-0 opening win over Germany followed by a 1-1 draw with Hungary and 2-2 draw with Portugal. They have been trading as favourites since the Tournament started and there was nothing in the group stages to convince the bookmakers otherwise and they remain the market leaders.

Switzerland finished 3^rd in their group behind Italy and Wales having drawn 1-1 with Wales, lost 3-0 to Italy and then beaten Turkey by 3-1. The line of form through that Wales draw doesn’t look great after Wales lost 4-0 to Denmark in their last 16 match.

For this bet to arrive we need France to win by more than a goal and while Switzerland have qualified for the last 16 their results were not that impressive and when they met group top dogs, Italy they were well beaten 3-0. I am expecting France to dish out something similar to them.
