BettingDiaryFormula 1 fans will be delighted that we have action to look forward to this week with the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix taking place at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy.

We suggest a couple of bets in the race.

The betting at the time may have suggested otherwise, but it was business as usual for Lewis Hamilton in the opening Bahrain Grand Prix where he took victory ahead of Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas.

It is quite interesting to see that he is as big as 8/11 to win the Championship with Max Verstappen priced at 12/10 in a two-horse race.

The 2020 edition of this Grand Prix took place in November last year and Mercedes completed the front row of the grid with Bottas taking pole ahead of Hamilton. That order was reversed in the race though and Daniel Ricciardo took the final spot on the podium behind the Mercedes duo.

Max Verstappen 13/10

Lewis Hamilton 15/10

Sergio Perez 11/1

Valtteri Bottas 14/1

Lando Norris 50/1

Daniel Ricciardo 50/1

55/1 and better the balance

Suggested Bet: Lewis Hamilton win at 15/10

Verstappen has been priced up as a narrow favourite here, but as Hamilton showed in Bahrain, he doesn’t necessarily have to have the best machine to win and his experience certainly stood him in good stead. This could well be a match race between the two, but given I am used to seeing prices of 5/10 and sometimes shorter about Hamilton, I can’t resist the 15/10 especially given the World Sports Betting, Money Back in Free Bets Promo should your selection run second. See banner below.

I am expecting some improvement from Mercedes this week and that could be enough to get Hamilton over the line.

Suggested Bet: Podium Finish, Ricciardo at 5/1

It is hard to look beyond the 2 Mercedes and Verstappen for the podium, but of course things can go wrong in a Grand Prix and the man I like as an outsider to fill the 3rd spot is Ricciardo who was a respectable 7th in Bahrain, but who podiumed here back in November.

Suggested Bet: Sebastian Vettel, Points Finish at 11/10

There was no joy for Vettel in Bahrain and he narrowly missed the points here last season, but I have seen some promising signs and reckon he could scrape into the Top 10 here.
