The Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan is host to this weekend’s F1 Grand Prix and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.
Sergio Perez was the winner of the Monaco Grand Prix and he finished ahead of Ferrari’s Sainz and his Red Bull teammate, Verstappen with Leclerc who had started on pole position finishing a disappointing 4th place. Russell was 5th and he has yet to finish outside of the Top 5 in 7 Grand Prix’s.
Max Verstappen now has a 9 point lead at the top of the Drivers Standings and Sergio Perez has moved within 15 points of his teammate and this no longer looks a two-horse race. Looking at the Drivers Championship Betting, Verstappen is firm favourite at 4/6, Leclerc 16/10 and you can get 16/1 Russell and 22/1 Perez.
There is certainly some danger that team orders could see Perez play fiddle to Verstappen, but I would have to say at that price he looks decent value.
Red Bull have a 36 point lead over Ferrari in the Constructors Championship and here they are trading as 4/6 favourites with Ferrari 13/10.

Perez is the defending champion in Azerbaijan having won here last season ahead of Vettel and Gasly in a surprise podium. There was no race in 2020 and 3 years prior to that we had 3 different winners in Bottas, Hamilton and Ricciardo as the Azerbaijan Grand Prix only started in 2017.

Max Verstappen 14/10
Charles Leclerc 2/1
Sergio Perez 7/1
Carlos Sainz 10/1
George Russell 22/1
Lewis Hamilton 33/1
125/1 and better the balance
Suggested Bet: Sergio Perez win at 7/1
Things seem to be falling into place for Perez and although his teammate, Max Verstappen is a worthy favourite here I can’t ignore him given his current form and also the fact that he won here in 2021. He certainly looks good value at more than four times the price of Verstappen and remember this bet comes with a money back for 2nd place in the form of free bets guarantee – T&Cs apply.
Suggested Bet: Points Finish Sebastian Vettel at 13/10
Vettel was runner-up here in 2021 and he has been showing some consistent form of late, sneaking into the points last time out and he has a 50% hit rate of points finishes in his last 4 starts suggesting there maybe a bit of value at this price.
