BettingDiaryThe Autódromo José Carlos Pace is the venue for this weekend’s Brazilian Grand Prix and Max Verstappen once again starts as short-priced favourite for the victory.

MEXICO

Verstappen won his 3rd successive Grand Prix last time out in Mexico and it was his 8th victory in his last 9 starts. He wrapped up the title some time back and leads by a massive 136 points with just 2 Grand Prix’s left. Second in Mexico was Lewis Hamilton, his second runner-up finish in succession and in 3rd place it was Sergio Perez who now leads Charles Leclerc by 5 points in the battle for 2nd.

Bookmakers are betting on that battle and Perez is currently an 8/11 favourite with Leclerc at 1/1 and you can get 100/1 on George Russell – click here for betting without Verstappen

2021

Lewis Hamilton won last season’s Brazilian Grand Prix starting 5th on the grid and storming through to take the victory ahead of Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas. That was Hamilton’s 3rd win in the Brazilian Grand Prix and Max Verstappen has won once back in 2019.

Max Verstappen 8/15

Charles Leclerc 7/1

Lewis Hamilton 7/1

Sergio Perez 12/1

George Russell 16/1

Carlos Sainz 25/1

275/1 and better the balance

Suggested Bet: George Russell to win at 16/1

Russell just hasn’t been able to keep things together for a full race, but he has had the fastest finishing time in his last two Grand Prix’s. World Sports Betting have a special this week where if you back a driver and he loses, but gets the fastest lap you get your money back in free bets and that is enough to tempt me into backing Russell.

Suggested Bet: Both Cars Podium Finish, Mercedes, Yes at 3/1

Hamilton has been in good form and as suggested above I fancy Russell for a good race and will take the 3/1 that they both make the podium, something which has only happened twice this season but given the way Mercedes is improving I think there is a strong chance this week.
