BettingDiaryFormula 1 returns this weekend with the Eifel Grand Prix taking place at the Nurburgring in Germany. We take a look at the race from a betting angle.

The very strange and unique 2020 Formula 1 season continues with a visit to the Nurburgring for the first time in 7 years. The track will be new to many of the riders, but those who raced prior to 2013 will remember it well.

Valtteri Bottas won the Russian Grand Prix having started 3rd on the grid with his teammate, Lewis Hamilton claiming pole position. Bottas recorded the fastest lap of the race and beat Max Verstappen into 2nd, with Hamilton completing the podium.

Lewis Hamilton 5/10

Valtteri Bottas 33/10

Max Verstappen 5/1

50/1 and better the balance

SUGGESTED BET: Valtteri Bottas win at 33/10

The win in Russia was Bottas’s second victory of the season, having won the opener in Austria. There are just signs that he is ready to compete with his decorated teammate, Lewis Hamilton, on a more regular basis and given he is 6 times the price of Hamilton I feel he is the value play here.

I also wouldn’t write off the chances of Max Verstappen who has only won once this season, but has finished in the Top 3 in every race that he has finished.

SUGGESTED BET: Top 6 Finish, Charles Leclerc at 7/4

Leclerc’s season got off to a great start with a 2nd place in Austria, but since then only podium finish has been a 3rd place in Britain. His last 2 races have been promising with an 8th place and a 6th place and the odds of him finishing in the Top 6 look pretty attractive all things considered.
