BettingDiaryMax Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton renew their title rivalry at the Russian Grand Prix which takes place at the Sochi Autodrom this weekend.

The Italian Grand Prix delivered a surprising podium with Daniel Ricciardo taking out the win in his McLaren Mercedes ahead of teammate, Lando Norris. Valtteri Bottas finished 3rd and Hamilton and Verstappen both retired after a collision which resulted in plenty of controversy. Max Verstappen had qualified in pole position and Ricciardo recorded the fastest lap of the race.

Verstappen remains just 5 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the Championship’s standings and in what is essentially a two-horse race, Verstappen is 8/10 to win the Championship ahead of Hamilton at 1/1.

Suggested Bet: Lewis Hamilton win at 4/6

Hamilton’s biggest title rival, Max Verstappen, has a 3 place grid penalty and it is reflected in his price to win of 11/2. I am not normally in the habit of backing 4/6 shots but considering how strong Hamilton and Mercedes have been at this track, coupled with the fact that World Sports Betting offer a money back in free bets promotion should Hamilton finish 2nd (or any other driver that you back) I am going to get stuck in this week knowing I have the money back insurance.

Suggested Bet: Fastest Lap, Max Verstappen at 5/2

Verstappen is going to have to work his way through the field and while I can see a controlled performance from Hamilton, Verstappen will surely be giving it all and he is my bet for fastest lap of the race.

Suggested Bet: Top 6 Finish, Daniel Ricciardo at 5/6

It was hard not to be impressed by Ricciardo in the Italian Grand Prix and while having the two big guns out of the race certainly helped. The fact that he was able to record the fastest lap and his 3rd Top 6 finish in 5 starts suggests to me that the 5/6 is a decent bet here.
