BettingDiaryThe Sakhir Grand Prix takes place at the Bahrain International Circuit, the same track that last weeks Bahrain Grand Prix was raced on. We take a look at some of the betting options in this preview.

Lewis Hamilton’s dominance continued last week when he won his 5th successive Grand Prix beating home Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon in their Red Bull racing Hondas. Hamilton’s teammate, Bottas was disappointing finishing down in 8th position and the race will long be remembered for the dramatic crash of Romain Grosjean who somehow walked away in one piece from what many had feared would be a fatal accident.

Hamilton has only finished off the podium twice all season and he has now won 11 Grand Prix’s with 2 left to race.

The big news this week though is that Hamilton will not be making it 6 Grand Prix’s in a row after he tested positive for COVID-19 and while disappointing for the great driver, it certainly does give the race a more open look from a betting perspective.

Fortunately for Hamilton he is so far ahead in the Drivers Standings and wrapped up the title some time back.

George Russell will step into replace Hamilton and due to the fact that he is driving a Mercedes he has been installed as a 33/10 3rd favourite.

Max Verstappen 16/10

Valtteri Bottas 19/10

George Russell 33/10

40/1 and better the balance

SUGGESTED BET: Max Verstappen win at 16/10

Verstappen was the only driver who looked anything close to Hamilton last week and he is a worthy favourite here having finished runner-up in 3 of his 6 last starts. This bet comes with a money back guarantee for 2nd. See Banner below and I can’t look past Verstappen in what bookmakers have priced up as a 3 horse race.

There are plenty of markets to bet on including a podium finish, top 6 finish, a points finish, which driver gets the fastest lap and even the first driver to retire.

A bet I fancy in the Top 6 finish market is Pierre Gasly at 2/1. This bet arrived last week and Gasly has finished a Top 6 in 3 of his last 5 starts.

Remember if you are placing a win bet on the Formula One Grand Prix you can take advantage of the money back for 2nd place special available at World Sports Betting. Details on the banner below.
