BettingDiaryThe Turkish Grand Prix takes place over 58 laps at the Intercity Istanbul Park circuit on Sunday and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.

Lewis Hamilton continued his absolute dominance of the season when he won the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix two weeks ago. Hamilton who was pipped into pole position by his teammate Bottas delivered the fastest lap of the race and won by just under 6 seconds from Bottas with Daniel Ricciardo finishing 3rd, 14 seconds behind Hamilton.

The Istanbul Park Circuit has not hosted a Grand Prix for 9 years and while many of the drivers will lack experience on the track, Lewis Hamilton won the penultimate Grand Prix back in 2010 and the year after that it was Sebastian Vettel who won in his Red Bull Renault.

It is likely that this will be the race where Hamilton secures his 7th title as his teammate, Bottas will need to outscore him by 8 points to take it to the next race in Bahrain. The Mercedes having comfortably wrapped up the Constructors Title, the two teammates who have stood head and shoulders above the rest this season will hopefully deliver an entertaining battle.

On the track it is said to be testing on the tyres and with Mercedes as reliable as ever it is no surprise to see Hamilton going in as a very strong favourite at 9/20.

Lewis Hamilton 9/20

Valtteri Bottas 4/1

Max Verstappen 11/2

80/1 and better the balance

SUGGESTED BET: Bottas win at 4/1

Bottas has only won 2 Grand Prix’s this season, but he has finished runner-up in the last 2 and with Hamilton knowing that he doesn’t have to win this Grand Prix to secure the Title, I am banking on the Englishman not being as ruthless as he usually is and getting almost ten times the price of Hamilton on Bottas looks like decent value and remember the money back insurance should he run 2nd. See Banner below.

SUGGESTED BET: Charles Leclerc Top 6 at 9/10

There are a host of markets available on the Grand Prix and one I like is the Top 6 finish where Leclerc is trading at just shy of even money. This bet would have arrived in the last 2 Grand Prix’s and the previous 3 before that would have arrived once and just missed twice.
