There is midweek Currie Cup action for punters to get stuck into and we take a look at the Lions v Western Province game from a betting angle.
The game takes place in Johannesburg and the Lions will be looking to bounce back from a 39-10 loss away to the Pumas last week. They started the match 4 point favourites, with the Pumas having been backed in from 9 point underdogs and that money proved spot on as the Pumas recovered from a slow start to win going away.
Western Province got their campaign off to a winning start with a 48-24 win against the Bulls at Loftus. That may sound impressive, but the handicap was 30 points as the Bulls main side were all over in Italy playing against Benetton in the Rainbow Cup Final.
A quick look at the Currie Cup Outright Betting which has the Sharks favourite at 16/10 ahead of the Bulls at 18/10, Western Province are 3/1, the Cheetahs 8/1 and you can get 10/1 the Lions.

Western Province 1/3
Handicap: Lions (+8.5) at 9/10, Western Province (-8.5) at 9/10
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Lions (+8.5) at 9/10
The Lions have a couple of experienced players back in the squad and I am expecting an improved performance from them and I didn’t find Western Province that impressive in beating a depleted Bulls side last week.
