WSB Logo Orange 80x80There are two PSL matches taking place on Sunday and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

Let’s start with a look at the latest Outright Betting where Mamelodi Sundowns head into the weekend as the 5/10 favourites, holding a 3 point lead over the 2nd favourites, Orlando Pirates who are trading at 14/10. Pirates have a game in hand and the rest of the sides are available at 33/1 or better.

POLOKWANE v SEKHUKHUNE – Click here to bet

Polokwane are 3rd on the log and they have taken 8 points from a possible 12 in their last four matches. They are coming off a goalless draw away at Golden Arrows, but they have yet to taste defeat at home this season. Their last two home games of 2024 saw them beat Marumo Gallants and Kaizer Chiefs with conceding.

Sekhukhune are 5th on the log and they are coming off back-to-back victories at home against Marumo Gallants and Cape Town City, both by 1-0 margins. They have only played two matches on the road this season, losing both and have yet to score a goal on their travels.

These sides played twice in the league last season and neither side managed to find the back of the net.

Polokwane are the favourites at 29/20 with the draw 18/10 and Sekhukhune are priced at 23/10.

Both these sides have been playing in low scoring matches so it is no surprise to see over 2.5 goals trading at 23/10 and that is getting to the point where it might be worth a bet on price alone. However, I am settling on a Polokwane home win against a side that made heavy weather of beating Marumo Gallants who had conceded 8 goals to Pirates in their previous match.

BET: Polokwane City win at 29/20

CAPE TOWN CITY v KAIZER CHIEFS – Click here to bet

Cape Town City are currently 12th on the log with 3 losses and 2 wins in their last 5 starts. Their last home game was a 1-0 defeat to AmaZulu, their first defeat in four home matches this season.

Kaizer Chiefs are 7th on the log and broke a 3 match streak without a victory when they beat Chippa United 1-0 at home on the 29th of December. Their last away game was a 1-1 draw at TS Galaxy. Then having won their two opening games of the season they have not won in their last four games.

This fixture finished goalless last season and Cape Town City won 1-0 on the road and Cape Town City have not lost to Chiefs in their last 7 PSL meetings.

Bookies cannot separate these sides who are both trading at 7/4 for the win with the draw on offer at 19/10. I agree with the bookmakers here that there is nothing between these sides and will go for the draw.

BET: The draw at 19/10
