There are two PSL matches taking place on Wednesday and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.
SUPERSPORT UNITED v POLOKWANE CITY – Click here to bet
SuperSport United are 4th on the table and in their first game since returning from the COVID-19 break they drew 1-1 with Bloem Celtic. SuperSport matches have tended to be low scoring and the last 5 have all delivered for under 2.5 goal backers and over the course of the season their matches averaged 2.3 goals a game.
Polokwane were beaten 3-2 by Kaizer Chiefs when they returned to action and they currently sit second last on the table in 15th level on points with bottom club, Black Leopards, but a win here would lift them out of the relegation zone and up to 13th. Like SuperSport, Polokwane’s matches have averaged 2.3 goals each this season and also identical to SuperSport, 8 of the 25 games have reached 3 goals or more.
Polokwane beat SuperSport 3—1 at home earlier in the season and in fact in their last 5 PSL matches against SuperSport they have not tasted defeat.
Betting
SuperSport United 13/20
Draw 51/20
Polokwane City 19/4
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Polokwane City (+1) at 12/10
For this bet to arrive we need Polokwane to either win or draw the game and based on what we saw against Kaizer Chiefs they must have every chance of doing that.
BLOEMFONTEIN CELTIC v KAIZER CHIEFS – Click here to bet
Bloem Celtic are 11th on the table and on 29 points should be just about safe for another season of PSL action. They were in action in the Nedbank Cup Semi-Finals where they hammered Baroka and they then came out to play to a 1-1 draw against SuperSport United on Sunday. Bloem Celtic’s matches are the highest scoring in the division averaging 2.8 goals each with just over 50% of them delivering for over 2.5 goal backers.
Kaizer Chiefs are top of the table, 6 points clear of Sundowns with just 6 matches left to play. They beat Polokwane 3-2 last time out and prior to that drew 1-1 with Wits. Chiefs matches have averaged 2.7 goals this season with 10 of the 24 games reaching 3 goals.
Kaizer Chiefs won the earlier League meeting 5-3, but that broke a run of 4 successive League matches without a win over Bloem Celtic.
Betting:
Bloem Celtic 67/20
Draw 12/5
Chiefs 17/20
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 21/20
I don’t expect anything like the 8 goals thriller that we got in the first match that we got between these sides, but these are two of the highest scoring teams in the division and I fancy Chiefs may play with a bit of freedom here.
