The PSL continues to head rapidly to a conclusion and all 16 teams are in action on Wednesday. We take a look at 4 of the key games from a betting angle.
BLACK LEOPARDS v BIDVEST WITS – Click here to bet
Black Leopards won their first 2 games after the COVID break, but have subsequently lost to SuperSport United and AmaZulu by one goal to nil margins. They now sit in 15th spot second from bottom and in relegation playoff position.
Wits are 3rd on the table, but still in with a mathematical chance of winning the Title. They beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 last time out and have played 7 games since returning from the COVID-19 break with 5 draws and 2 victories. 6 of the 7 matches would have delivered for under 2.5 goal backers.
Wits beat Black Leopards 1-0 in the reverse fixture.
Betting:
Leopards 9/2
Draw 49/20
Wits 7/10
Suggested Bet: Wits win at 7/10
Leopards are desperate for points, but I got the feeling in their last 2 matches that the pressure is getting to them and I think Wits will do enough to win this.
KAIZER CHIEFS v CHIPPA UNITED – Click here to bet
Kaizer Chiefs have only taken 1 point from the last 12 they have played for and they must be wondering how they can still be top of the table on goal difference. It is because of that goal difference that their fate is in their own hands and they will fancy their chances of grabbing 3 points against Chippa United who sit 12th on the table and virtually guaranteed another years PSL action.
Chippa United’s 4 games since returning from the break have all delivered for under 2.5 goal backers and Chiefs last 3 matches have also had 2 goals or less in them.
Chiefs beat Chippa United 2-0 in the reverse fixture.
Betting:
Chiefs 5/10
Draw 16/5
Chippa 23/4
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Kaizer Chiefs (-1) at 27/20
It is hard to be confident of Chiefs given how they have slipped up in the title run in, but the fact that Sundowns failed to capitalize on the weekend might just be enough to free them up and I suspect they can win this by more than a goal.
STELLENBOSCH v AMAZULU – Click here to bet
Stellenbosch have managed to ensure their survival with an impressive run which has seen them undefeated in their last 4 matches. Their last 2 games have been 1-1 draws with Chippa United and Kaizer Chiefs. Under 2.5 goal backers would have collected in all 4 of Stellenbosch’s matches since they have returned to action.
AmaZulu grabbed themselves a lifeline when they beat fellow relegation candidates, Black Leopards, 1-0 last time out and they go into this set of fixtures sitting 14th just outside the relegation playoff zone.
AmaZulu won the reverse fixture 2-0.
Betting:
Stellenbosch 11/10
Draw 22/10
AmaZulu 53/20
Suggested Bet: The draw at 22/10
Everything points to a low scoring encounter between these sides and I think AmaZulu would be more than happy to take a point out of this one.
POLOKWANE CITY v MAMELODI SUNDOWNS – Click here to bet
Polokwane are bottom of the table having come off 2 successive draws against Highlands and Bloem Celtic. They have only taken 2 points from a possible 12 since returning to action. They play a Mamelodi Sundowns team that blew the chance to move to top of the table when they lost 1-0 to Baroka on Sunday. It was the 3rd successive 1-0 result Sundowns have been involved in although others were victories over Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows.
Sundowns beat Polokwane 1-0 last time out.
Betting:
Polokwane 9/2
Draw 26/10
Sundowns 13/20
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Polokwane City (+1) at 23/20
Who will blink first, Chiefs or Sundowns, I think it is going to be Sundowns and a desperate Polokwane side can get something out of this one.
