BettingDiaryKaizer Chiefs take on Bidvest Wits at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.

At the time of writing Mamelodi Sundowns were still to play Orlando Pirates on Tuesday night, but going into that match here is the current Outright Betting with Kaizer Chiefs leading Sundowns by 4 points, but Sundowns having a game in hand

Chiefs resume the season with a 4 point lead at the top of the table, but this could have been cut to 1 point by the time they run out for this match. They were wobbling a bit just before the COVID-19 break losing 2 of their last 3 games although they did beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 in between those 2 losses.

Kaizer Chiefs matches have averaged 2.6 goals each this season with 9 of the 22 games delivering for over 2.5 goal backers. Their Title campaign has been built on defence and they have only conceded 17 goals in 22 matches. Interestingly Kaizer Chiefs are the only side in the PSL not to play out a goalless draw this season.

Wits are 10 points behind Kaizer Chiefs, having played a game less and their 1-0 win at home over Black Leopards before the COVID-19 break ended a run of 3 matches without a win. Wits League games have been amongst the lowest in the division averaging just 2 goals each with only 5 of their 21 matches reaching 3 goals or more and 11 of the 21 games would have seen you collect a profit had you backed under 1.5 goals. Wits were in action on the weekend in the Nedbank Cup Semi-finals, going down 3-2 to Mamelodi Sundowns in a high scoring encounter.

These sides hadn’t met yet in the League this season, but last season it was the away team which won on each occasion, Chiefs beating Wits 2-0 away and Wits beating Chiefs 3-1 on the road.

Betting:

Chiefs 21/20

Draw 22/10

Wits 28/10

Suggested Bet: The draw at 22/10

I think Wits will benefit from the Nedbank Cup Semi-Final game and can potentially take advantage of some Kaizer Chiefs rust. I don’t see much in this game and the sharing of the spoils looks a likely outcome.
