New Zealand shortened further in the Outright Betting from 9/20 to 7/20 after getting another bonus point win against Australia last week. South Africa are stable at 2/1 and you can now get 40/1 Argentina and 50/1 Australia.

NEW ZEALAND v ARGENTINA

The All Blacks have started their Rugby Championship campaign with back-to-back bonus point wins against Australia and it certainly puts them in the driving seat as they head into 2 weekends in a row against Argentina.

The All Blacks are missing a few of their star players, but as they showed last week there is so much depth in the squad and when you can bring someone like Barrett in for Mo’unga you know you have a rich pool of talent.

Much was expected of Argentina in their recent trip to South Africa, but although they were well backed in the 1st International in Port Elizabeth, they ended up losing by 19 points and their handicappers would have been disappointed again a week later when they lost by 20 points, a game where they started 16 point underdogs.

These sides met twice last year in the Rugby Championship with Argentina beating the All Blacks in Sydney 25-15 only for New Zealand to hammer them 38-0 when they met in Newcastle.

New Zealand 1/20

Draw 60/1

Argentina 12/1

Handicap: New Zealand (-23.5) at 9/10, Argentina (+23.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Argentina (+23.5) at 9/10

You always know you are in for a nervous 80 minutes when you go against New Zealand on the handicap, but I think that Argentina will be able to slow this game down and while a victory is highly unlikely, I think they can stay within the cap.

SOUTH AFRICA v AUSTRALIA

South Africa are on 9 points after their 2 matches having failed to pick up a bonus point in their 20 point victory over Argentina last time out. There is little doubt that the Springboks will stick to their usual game plan and will look to dominate Australia up front.

The Aussies have shown flashes of brilliance against New Zealand in their last 3 Test Matches, but on each occasion they have taken a beating although the opening Bledisloe Cup fixture they managed to keep the deficit down to 8 points. Part of their problem has been composure on attack and they have thrown a number of intercept passes which the All Blacks have been only too happy to take advantage of.

Their prospects of winning the Tournament are essentially gone, but the management and team will be feeling the pressure of an expectant Australian public that they can turn the corner and give the World Champions a run for their money.

South Africa 2/7

Draw 30/1

Australia 33/10

Handicap: South Africa (-10.5) at 9/10, Australia (+10.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Winning Margin, South Africa by 1-12 points inclusive at 16/10

I don’t think the Springboks are going to have things their own way and Australia are one of the few teams who may have a creativity to trouble them, still I can’t see past a Bok win, but I am betting that it will be by 12 points or less.
