BettingDiaryWe take a look at the 3 Six Nations matches taking place this weekend and suggest a bet in each game.

Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting and what has now become a two horse race. Wales are 4/11 to win the Six Nations Championship with France priced at 22/10. Will there be a Grand Slam Winner? No is priced at 4/11 and Wales are 22/10 for the slam.

SCOTLAND v ITALY – Click here to bet

Scotland won their opening match against England at Twickenham, but since then they have lost by a point to Wales at home then last week by 3 points to the Irish at home. In both matches they had their chances to win the game and will be disappointed that they are out of the running to win the competition.

It has been another disastrous Tournament for Italy and so far they have lost to France by 40, Ireland by 38 and Wales by 41 at home and their only away match was a 23 point loss to England at Twickenham. They have played a more exciting brand than Italian teams of past years, but they just haven't looked up to Six Nations standard.

These teams met in the Autumn Nations Cup in Italy when Scotland won by 11 points and the last time they met in Scotland was in 2019 in the Six Nations where the home team prevailed 33-20.

BETTING

Scotland 1/33

Draw 80/1

Italy 22/1

Handicap: Scotland (-26.5) at 9/10, Italy (+26.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Italy (+26.5) at 9/10

I am going to give the Italians just one more chance against a Scottish side which has been quite deflated from their last couple of performances. Scotland should win this, but I think Italy can grab the handicap as they did against England at Twickenham.

IRELAND v ENGLAND – Click here to bet

After losing their opening 2 games away to Wales and at home to France, Ireland have bounced back with a comfortable win over Italy in Rome and they beat Scotland 27-24 in Edinburgh last week. Their Tournament chances have disappeared, but they would love to finish off with a victory against England.

England turned in their best performance in some time when beating France 23-20 at Twickenham last weekend. Prior to that they were beaten by 16 points at Wales, beat Italy 41-18 at home and lost their opener to Scotland 11-6 at Twickenham.

England beat Ireland 32-20 in Dublin the last time the sides met in the Six Nations in Ireland, but Ireland had won the previous 2 meetings at home.

BETTING

Ireland 14/10

Draw 25/1

England 4/6

Handicap: Ireland (+2.5) at 9/10, England (-2.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Ireland win at 14/10

I think last weeks win of England showed what they are capable of, but I also think they may struggle to keep that intensity up for 2 weeks in a row and I am going for the home team to win.

FRANCE v WALES – Click here to bet

France will have their game against Scotland to come as that was postponed due to COVID-19, but if they are to stay in the Tournament they simply have to beat Wales this weekend. The French would have been very disappointed to lose by 3 points to England last weekend and they certainly looked like winners for long periods before fading in the second-half. This will be their first home game of the campaign after the Scottish match was postponed.

Not much was expected of Wales heading into this campaign, but they opened with a home win over Ireland and an away win over Scotland. In both cases benefitting from red cards to the opposition. They then beat England 40-24 in a surprisingly high scoring encounter in Cardiff before hammering Italy 48-7 last week.

BETTING

France 4/11

Draw 28/1

Wales 5/2

Handicap: France (-7.5) at 9/10, Wales (+7.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, France (-7.5) at 9/10

I think France will put that disappointing performance against England behind them to record their 2nd successive victory over Wales having beaten them by 4 points in Cardiff last season.
