South Africa and Bangladesh meet in the 2nd and final Test Match at St George’s Park on Friday. South Africa will be looking to wrap up a 2-0 series victory.
Bangladesh won the toss in Durban last week and sent South Africa in to bat. The South Africans got off to a solid start eventually getting bowled out for 367 at just on 3 runs an over. Top scorer for the South Africans was Temba Bavuma with 93 and Khaled Ahmed delivered profits for those that backed him in the Top Bowler market with 4 wickets for 92 runs.
Bangladesh were then bowled out for 298 with the only significant resistance coming from opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy who scored a fighting 137 as Bangladesh recovered from 101 for 5 to finish just shy of the 300 mark. South African spinner, Simon Harmer was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 103 in 40 overs.
Dean Elgar got his second successive 50 and South Africa scored 204 with Ebadot Hossain the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 40.
Bangladesh were in trouble early in the innings which was opened by South African spinners, Maharaj and Harmer and the pair bowled unchanged for 19 overs to get their opponents out for 53 with Maharaj picking up 7 sticks and Harmer 3. South Africa won by a comfortable 220 runs.
Bangladesh have still to beat South Africa in a Test Match with 11 wins and 2 draws in 13 matches. While South Africa have a good record at St George’s Park over the last decade, their last 2 games here have seen them lose to Sri Lanka and England back in 2019 and 2020
2nd TEST BETTING – Click here to bet
South Africa 8 /10
Draw 19/10
Bangladesh 6/1
Suggested bets:
South Africa win at 8/10
I think Bangladesh are going to struggle to bounce back from that heavy defeat and South Africa can justify the odds on price and appear to be stronger across the board.
Top Home Batsman, Dean Elgar at 26/10
Elgar has fond memories of Tests at St George’s Park and II am expecting him to play an anchor role and for the rest of the players to bat around him.
Top Home Bowler 1st Innings, Keshav Maharaj at 3/1
St George’s is a wicket that takes spin and after the success in Durban I am expecting the South African skipper to give his spinners plenty of work.
