BettingDiaryThe third of four T20 Internationals between South Africa and Pakistan takes place at Centurion on Wednesday and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.

This four match series is perfectly set up at one each after the opening two games. Pakistan won the 1st T20 at the Wanderers on Friday chasing down 188 set by South Africa, with 4 wickets and 1 ball to spare.

The 2nd T20 took place on Monday and was a one-way traffic for the Proteas involved who restricted Pakistan to 140 for 9 before chasing the score down in 14 overs and with 6 wickets to spare.

For Pakistan, Babar Azam was the top scorer with 50, but those came at a run a ball so fairly slow by T20 standards. George Linde was the pick of the South African bowlers with 3 for 23 in his 4 overs and Lizaad Williams was also amongst the wickets with 3 for 35 in his 4.

Aiden Markram led the South African response with an excellent 54 off 30 balls and skipper Heinrich Klaasen applied the finishing touches together with George Linde, Klaasen getting 36 off 21 and Linde 20 at 2 runs a ball. None of the Pakistan bowlers really troubled the batsmen, but Qadir did manage 2 for 26 in his 3 overs.

3rd T20 Match Betting

South Africa 12/10

Pakistan 7/10

Suggested Bet: Pakistan to win at 7/10

Although they were well beaten last time out Pakistan are well known for being an inconsistent team and I think they will prefer the Centurion track which has slightly less bounce.

The Proteas can certainly be proud of what was an excellent effort in the T20, given so many stars are missing, but I think they may come back down to earth in this one.

Suggested Bet: Batsman Total Match 4’s, Markram over 2.5 4’s at 11/10

Markram has been playing some excellent cricket and although he has the habit of given his wicket away just after he gets going, we only need him to get 3 boundaries in order for this bet to arrive.

Suggested Bet: Most Match 6’s, South Africa at 21/20

We were on this bet in both the 1st and 2nd T20’s and have won comfortably on each occasion. Even if as I suspect Pakistan win the game, South Africa have the bigger hitters in their team and can clear the boundary more regularly.

Suggested Bet: Man of the Match, Babar Azam at 7/1

The Pakistan skipper has been amongst the runs, but not in the prolific form that we saw in the ODI’s. If that changes he could well be collecting the Man of the Match award.
