BettingDiaryMonday is normally a quiet day on the sports betting front, but not this week with both Rugby World Cup and English Premier League action to look forward to.

RUGBY WORLD CUP

Before we get into the Scotland v Samoa game let us have a look at the Outright Betting following a weekend which saw Japan stun Ireland and Wales beat Australia.

New Zealand remain firm at the top of the betting boards at 5/4, South Africa 4/1, you can get 9/2 England and 11/1 Wales with Ireland now from 10/1 to 12/1. Australia have drifted from 15/1 to 20/1 and you can get 33/1 and better the balance.

The Scotland v Samoa clash is a must win for both sides after the group was thrown wide open with Japan’s defeat of Ireland. Scotland started badly losing heavily to Ireland and they cannot afford another slip-up if they want to make the quarter-finals. Good news for them is that the bookies have them as 16.5 favourites and we fancy them to come out of the blocks quickly and like the Scotland (-8.5) on the half-time handicap.

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

After an exciting weekend of EPL action the biggest game takes place on Monday night when Manchester United host Arsenal.

Manchester United are on offer at 14/10 to win the match with the draw 51/20 and Arsenal 19/10 for 3 valuable away points. Other markets of interest include over 2.5 goals which is trading at 13/20, over 3.5 goals at 31/20 and both teams to score which is pretty short at 11/20.

Looking at the League Table, Manchester United have slipped to 11th and Arsenal are currently sitting in 8th, 3 points above them. One fact that will concern Arsenal fans is they haven't won at Old Trafford in their last 12 Premier League matches, that being said, Manchester United have never looked more vulnerable although we think the draw is a more likely outcome at just over 5/2.
