BettingDiaryWe take a look at Thursday’s sports betting highlights in our Daily Diary.

FOOTBALL

The Europa League last 16 matches get under way on Thursday night and Wolves will be looking to do what Arsenal couldn’t when they face Olympiacos away.

Olympiacos beat Arsenal in extra time after the two-legged tie finished level, while Wolves had a far easier passage beating Espanyol 6-3 on aggregate having won the 1st leg 4-0 at home.

Olympiacos are 12/5, the draw is 43/20 and Wolves are favourites at 12/10 and looking at Wolves games in Europe this season we like goals here and will go for over 2.5 goals at 5/4.

Manchester United are 1/1 favourites away at LASK who are 59/20 with the draw 23/10.

United have had some promising form of late and they hammered Club Brugge 5-0 at home in the 2nd leg of their last 32 encounter to win 6-1 on aggregate.

LASK came through 3-1 on aggregate over AZ Alkmaar winning the home leg 2-0.

United certainly seem to be on the right track and we think they will win this one and the 1/1 appeals.

GOLF

All eyes are on Sawgrass for the Players Championship where Rory Mcilroy has drifted slightly from 7/1 to 8/1 and 16/10 a Top 6 finish. Fellow European Ryder Cup Star, Jon Rahm is 13/1 with Justin Thomas 18/1 and you can get 22/1 and better the balance.

Patrick Reed is the man who seems to play better the more public pressure there is on him and the more people dislike him and he could be one to follow at 40/1 for a win and 8/1 for a place.

CRICKET

After a successful 3-0 whitewash of Australia in the home ODI Series, South Africa go over to India where their recent record is very poor and not surprisingly 2/1 to win the opening ODI with India on offer at 4/10.

A batsman that we think may be able to handle conditions better than most is Buvuma and he can be backed at 4/1 in the Top Away Batsman market.
