After a slow start to the week there is plenty of football and cricket action for punters to get stuck into on Wednesday. We take a look at some of the highlights in our Betting Diary.
CRICKET
There are two test matches and one ODI on Wednesday and let’s start with the highlight being the second test match between England and Australia taking place at Lords.
Australia carry a 1-0 lead into the second test of a 5 match series and they are narrow favourites at 27/10 with England 69/20 and the draw very short at 8/10. There is plenty of rain forecast for the next few days which explains the short price of the draw and unless you fancy backing that, our suggestion here is to stick to the Exotic Markets where you know you will still get a run for your money. we said in yesterday’s piece that we fancied Warner to be the top Australian batsman at 4/1 and we also like him to score 50 at a price of 81/50.

Sri Lanka and New Zealand take each other on at the Galle International Stadium. Bookies make this a close betting heat with Sri Lanka 19/10, New Zealand 17/10 and the draw at 2/1. Looking at the additional markets we like a bit of Kane Williamson to be top away batsman at 2/1.

India lead the 3 match ODI series against West Indies 1-0 after two matches and the sides meet in the 3rd and final ODI where India are firm favourites at 3/10 with the West Indies priced at 26/10. The run spread for the first innings is set at 268.5 at 17/20 the pair.

FOOTBALL
There are three PSL matches taking place on Wednesday night with the biggest of them being SuperSport against Pirates. SuperSport are 43/20, the draw 39/20 and Pirates currently priced at 29/20. Pirates have looked pretty good in front of goal so far and we fancy a little bit of the over 2.5 goals at 14/10

Wednesday night also sees Liverpool and Chelsea going up against each other in the UEFA Super Cup and it is Liverpool who are 6/10 favourites with Chelsea 17/4 and the draw 16/5. Liverpool look to be in prolific goal scoring form once again, but we expect Chelsea to come with a defensive approach and like under 2.5 goals at 23/20.
