BettingDiarySouth Africa will be looking to wrap up the 3 match T20 series against Sri Lanka when the sides meet in Colombo on Sunday and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat in the 1st T20 on Friday and they got off to a solid start with de Kock and Hendricks putting on 73 for the first wicket at over 7 runs an over. Aiden Markram came in at 3 and scored a quick fire 48 at a strike rate of 145 with South Africa eventually finishing on 163 for 5 in their 20 overs. For the Sri Lankans, Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 23 off his 4 overs.

Sri Lanka got off to a solid enough start, but was soon in trouble at 34 for 2 and in the end it was Dinesh Chandimal who held things together with 66 at the strike rate of 122. There was precious little other contributions from the team though and they finished at 135 for 6, South Africa winning by 28 runs. The South African bowlers had spread the wickets amongst them, but Maharaj was the pick in terms of economy going for under 5 an over in his 4 overs.

Sri Lanka 27/20

South Africa 8/13

Suggested Bet: Most Match 6’s, South Africa at 15/20

South Africa have more big, boundary hitters in the side and this bet arrived with a 5-3 result in the first T20.

Suggested Bet: Top Away Batsman, Markram at 33/10

This bet arrived for us in the 1st T20 and I am happy to stick with Markram who looked in impressive form and I like the fact that he isn’t opening, but coming in 1st wicket down.

At the time of writing there wasn’t a first innings runs quote, but having narrowly landed the Under 166.5 runs last time out, I would probably be going unders if the lines end in a similar region.
