Australian Super Rugby returns to our screens this weekend and we take a look at the Tournament as well as the opening matches from a betting angle.
Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting where the Brumbies are trading at firm favourites at 11/10.

Brumbies 11/10
Rebels 3/1
Reds 9/2
Waratahs 15/2
Western Force 10/1
The Western Force who were on offer at 11/10 to finish bottom a few weeks ago have now shortened to 4/10 in that market and there is also betting on teams to reach the Grand Final.
REDS v WARATAHS – Click Here to bet
This match takes place on Friday and the Reds have been a warm order with punters with money coming for them over the last couple of weeks. There are some familiar names in their team including skipper and number 6 Liam Wright, Fly-half James O’Connor and there are also a number of promising youngsters looking to make their mark.
The Waratahs are likewise a mixture between young and old with stalwarts Michael Hooper and Rob Simmons, who will skipper the side, joined by a number of players not well known to people other than those very close to Australian rugby.
The Waratahs have dominated the Reds in past seasons and they have won their last 11 matches, home and away, against their bitter rivals.
BETTING
Reds 4/11
Draw 28/1
Waratahs 12/5
Handicap: Reds (-7.5) at 9/10, Waratahs (+7.5) at 9/10
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Reds (-7.5) at 9/10
The Waratahs look like a side who are going to struggle his season and the Reds can justify the early money that has come their way in the betting markets.
BRUMBIES V REBELS – click here to bet
The Brumbies look to have the best squad of the competition and are worthy favourites. They have won 3 of their 4 home matches in the regular Super Rugby Competition including Derby wins over the Reds, Rebels and Waratahs. They beat the Rebels 39-26 back in February although the Rebels have won on 3 of their last 5 visits to Canberra.
The Rebels have been friendless in the betting markets. The Rebels team has had a number of unfamiliar faces in it although I do like the move of Reece Hodge to Centre and Dane Haylett-Petty is always reliable at Fullback and will Captain the side. One of the challenges the Rebels will face this season is having to play away from home due to the Corona Virus which has spiked in Melbourne.
BETTING
Brumbies 1/3
Draw 28/1
Rebels 27/10
Handicap: Brumbies (-8.5) at 9/10, Rebels (+8.5) at 9/10
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Brumbies (-8.5) at 9/10
The Brumbies look the more settled unit and their pack can take control delivering the handicap.
