BettingDiaryThe Sherwood Country Club in California will be the host for this year’s ZOZO championship and we take a look at the Tournament from a betting angle.

This will be the second running of the ZOZO Championship which was co-sanctioned last year by the PGA Tour and the Japan Tour. The Sherwood Country Club has stepped in to host the venue with travel to Japan not possible.

Sherwood Country Club is a par 72 and punters will remember it from hosting Tiger Woods Tournament, The Hero Challenge up until a few years back. We haven't got any recent course form to go on, but based on the Hero Challenge results we should be looking for players who can position it well off the tee and find Greens in Regulations.

Dustin Johnson is still out with the positive COVID-19 test and Jon Rahm tops the betting at 10/1 ahead of Schauffele, Thomas and Mcilroy all at 12/1 and you can get 20/1 and better the balance.

Jon Rahm 10/1

Xander Schauffele 12/1

Justin Thomas 12/1

Rory Mcilroy 12/1

20/1 and better the balance, prices correct at the time of posting but are subject to change

Suggested Bets:

Matthew Wolff each way at 40/1

We were on Wolff last week, but he failed to follow up his US Open performance and bombed out badly, but that means we get a bigger price on him than I would have expected this week and I do feel he will be perfectly course suited.

Tyrrell Hatton each way at 20/1

Hatton was in cracking form last week finishing tie for 3rd. He was striking the ball brilliantly and which is a good ingredient for success at this course.

Tiger Woods each way at 40/1

Why not? Tiger won this event in Japan last year and while he hasn’t done much since he won the Masters in 2019, I suspect his game is building towards Augusta and at a course where he has won multiple times he may just go close.

Abraham Ancer each way at 66/1

Ancer has been holding form well and is another player that I expect to go well in conditions. The fact that he is 66/1 is testament to the quality of this field and I am happy to have him as the 4th member of my 4 ball this week.
