BettingDiaryStage 4 of the Tour de France starts in Sisteron and finishes in Orcieres-Merlette covering 157 kilometres. We take a look at the stage from a betting angle.

Stage 3 Wrap

Our pick for the Stage 3 win, Sam Bennett looked to have it wrapped up with just 100 metres to go, but second favourite Caleb Ewan stormed through the bunch with a spectacular burst of speed to grab the win. Bennett was 2nd which means if you backed him with World Sports Betting you do get your money back in free bets. See the banner below.

The stage itself was a bit of a damp squid compared to what we were hoping for and although the profile suggested we could get a strong break and lots of action the Peloton chose to take a day off, letting a weak break go off which eventually consisted of 1 rider on his own and he was never going to hold off the Peloton when they eventually got down to business.

Looking at the overall classifications there is very little change to the betting as the favourites just stayed out of trouble, however, we can expect that to change on Stage 4 where we have our first summit finish of the Tour. Alaphilippe continues to wea the Yellow Jersey.

Stage 4 Verdict

Stage 4 is relatively straight forward although there are 4 categorized climbs before we hit the base of the final climb which rises for 7.1km at 6.7%. The breakaway stands a chance today but we think that Jumbo will ride a tough pace and that the GC men and top climbers will contend the stage.

We will see some sort of shake up in the GC and assuming the breakaway is reeled in it will involve the battle for stage honours.

There are no shortage of candidates but we will go with two against the field, Adam Yates, who proved his well-being on Stage 2 and the ultra-talented Tadej Pogacar

Stage 4 Bets: Adam Yates at 15/2 & Tadej Pogacar at 11/1

Don't forget our money back promotion for a second place finish on all stages of the tour.
