Euro 2020 gets going at last this Friday When Turkey take on Italy at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome and we look at the match from a betting angle and also have a look at the outright markets.
Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting where France are currently trading as 9/2 favourites with England 11/2, Belgium 13/2 and Italy are priced with Germany, Portugal and Spain at 17/2. Turkey are amongst the outsiders currently priced at 80/1.

TURKEY v ITALY
These sides play in Group A and the other teams joining them are Switzerland and Wales. Turkey are rank outsiders in this completion, but they are certainly no pushovers and came second in their qualification group to France, drawing with the French away and beating them 2-0 at home. Those games of course took place in 2019 and more recently Turkey beat Maldova 2-0 in a friendly and in World Cup 2022 qualification they had victories over the Netherlands and Norway and drew 3-3 to Latvia in an entertaining match.
Italy came through their qualification group with at 100% record and their last qualification match against Slovenia in 2019 finished 9-1 to the Italians. Their World Cup qualification also started well with 3 victories and in recent friendlies they hammered the Czech Republic 4-0 and San Marino 7-0.

Suggested Bet: Handicap Italy (-1) at 29/20
Turkey are capable of putting up resistance, but I can’t see them stopping this Italian side that for my money are attractively priced at 17/2 to win the Tournament. For this bet to arrive I need Italy to win by more than a goal.
Another market which I fancy is the over 2.5 goals at 5/4. Turkey’s World Cup qualifiers have been free scoring and the Italians have also played some high scoring matches of late. Italy’s defence is tight though and I going to stick to the handicap play at this point.
For those looking for a correct score bet I would go with Italy 2-0 at 9/2 or 3-0 at 33/4.
