Atletico Madrid only tasted defeat once in the group stages and that was away at Bayern Munich where they were hammered 4-0 in Match Day 1. After that they drew 3 and lost 2 and at home they finished with a record of 2 draws and 1 victory. They were disappointing on the weekend going down 2-0 at home to Valencia in the League, but that may be a sign that their focus is on this game as prior to that they had gone 7 games without defeat.
Chelsea won 4 and drew 2 of their group matches and on the road they had a 100% record including 4-0 wins over Sevilla and Krasnodar. They were disappointing on the weekend as well, drawing 1-1 away at Southampton and prior to that they had also been in cracking form with 5 successive victories in the League and Cup.
