Golf fans have had to wait until August for the first Major of the year and it is the USA PGA Championship taking place at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California.
Harding Park, which will play to a Par 70, has been used in a number of events over the years including the WGC Match Play in 2015 although there isn’t a lot of recent course form to go on. The course itself is tree lined and windy conditions are expected this week. In true PGA tradition the winner is likely to be very lengthy off the tee.
Brooks Koepka looks for his 3rd PGA Title in succession and he is 10/1 favourite for the victory ahead of last week’s winner Justin Thomas at 11/1. Jon Rahm didn’t perform last week but previously won The Memorial and he is 14/1 with Rory Mcilroy 15/1 and you can get 16/1 and better the balance.

Selections:
Brooks Koepka 10/1 each way
Koepka has won 3 of his last 7 majors and has not finished outside the Top 5 in his last five starts. He gives you the impression that he focuses on the bigger events and while his game was not perfect, he tuned up nicely with a tie 2nd finish at the WGC St. Jude last week.
Dustin Johnson each way at 25/1
DJ has been a winner since play resumed following the COVID break and while he seems to lack some consistency of late, his length will be a big factor here. I also get the feeling that as his career moves forward he is going to be more focused on the Majors and less on regular tournament wins.
While this event has thrown up some outsiders it is more than likely that one of the top golfers will win it.
Tony Finau each way at 60/1
Finau backers must be wondering when he is going to get over the line and he does have a habit of fading when in contention. He has some excellent form this season and particularly in recent weeks and he is plenty long enough off the tee to contend here.
Erik van Rooyen Top 20 finish at 6/1
The South African is long off the tee and has shown a tendency to play well in big events including WGC Tournaments where he bagged another Top 20 last week. He also finished in the top 10 in his debut in this tournament last year.
