centurionPretoria Capitals host MI Cape Town in the Betway SA20 at Centurion on Friday, the visitors are play off bound and the Capitals are still in the mix to join them.

Pretoria Capitals

With a record of 2 wins, 4 defeats and 2 no results the Capitals have 14 points, they currently occupy fifth spot and could still overhaul either JSK and / or the Sunirsers to make the play offs. After this the Capitals take on MI Cape Town again in their final round robin match, but that game will be at Newlands.

The Capitals kept their play off hopes alive with a 6 wicket win over JSK at Centurion on Tuesday. They restricted the visitors to 99/9 (Migael Pretorius 3-22 ) and crashed the target off in 12 overs to pick up a much needed bonus point. Their only other win also came at Centurion and by the same margin when they got the better of the Sunrisers.

MI have won all 4 of their matches at Newlands whilst their 2 defeats came away to JSK and Paarl Royals.

The Verdict

The greater need for victory is with the Capitals but MI will be keen to keep their momentum going into the play offs where they will get 2 bites at the cherry (if needed) to make the final.

I went high on sixes in the PC v JSK game at this venue earlier in the week and it rebounded on me in disastrous fashion. I will play this very differently and go with Capitals skipper and keeper Kyle Verreynne to beat his Player Performance quote.
