IndiaThe T20 World Cup Super 8 stage concludes on Monday 24th June when England take on USA and West Indies clash with South Africa.

It's the final 2 matches of this of the Super 8's and as far as the Group 1 standings are concerned India are top with the maximum 4 points and a net run rate of +2.425. Australia are currently second with 2 points and a NRR of 0.223 and Afghanistan are also on 2 points with a NRR of -0.650. Bangladesh have lost both their matches and with a NRR of -2.489 it's hard to see how they can make the semi finals.

Afghanistan (0.53/1) meet Bangladesh (13/10) in St. Vincent in the early hours of Tuesday morning by which time they will know what is required to secure a semi final berth. Our focus is on the Australia v India game in St. Lucia.

Australia v India (St. Lucia)

Coming into their second Super 8 match against Afghanistan in St. Vincent on Saturday Australia boasted a 100% record but it didn't go to plan and they found themselves on the wrong end of a shock result. Afghanistan put on a century stand but then Cummins (3 wickets) and Zampa (2) helped restrict Afghan to 148/6. The chase was in trouble from the off with Head lasting just 3 balls and Warner faced 8, Maxwell (59) was the top scorer and Australia were all out for 127 in a 21 run defeat.

David Warner was not out on 53 when play ended in their 28 run DLS win over Bangladesh in their first Super 8 match. Earlier Pat Cummins returned figures of 3/29 and Zampa 2/24 as they restricted Bangladesh to 140/8.

Australia won all 4 of their pool matches, beating England, Scotland, Namibia and Oman

India saw off Bangladesh by 50 runs in their lastest outing which came in Antigua. They posted 195/5 batting first with Hardik Pandya op scoring, 50 not out and he hit 3 of his sides 13 maximums. Kulddep Yadav returned figures of 3/19 and there were 2 wickets a piece for Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah as Bangladesh closed on 146/8.

India beat Afghanistan by 47 run in their first Super 8 match in Barbados. Suryakumar Yadav top scored with 53 in their bat first total of 181/8, Afghan were all out for 134 in reply with 3 wickets a piece for Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav struck twice.

Earlier in the pool stage India beat Ireland, Pakistan and USA and their clash with Canada was washed out.
