Recent Form

West Indies

West Indies completed a 3-0 clean sweep of Sri Lanka in a home series in March this year, winning by margins of 8 wickets and then 5 wickets (twice). Prior to that they lost 3-0 in Bangladesh in January.

Australia

This will be Australia's first ODI action since they beat India 2-1 in a home series at the back end of last year whilst last September they were 2-1 winners in England.

Recent Head to Head

The teams last met in the 2019 World Cup in England and Australia won a pool stage match by 15 runs.

The last series between these teams came in West Indies in June 2016 and Australia were 3-1 winners.

The Venue: Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados

Since 2016 West Indies have won 4 and lost 4 of the 8 ODI's staged at this venue. Australia beat Australia in a 2 matches in the 2016 series.

West Indies are currently trading at around 8/10 to win the game and Australia can be backed at around even money

West Indies are 11/20 to hit the most sixes and they are 8/10 to post the highest first 15 overs total

Shai Hope is 5/2 favourite to top score for West Indies. Aussie skipper Aaron Finch is 3/1 favourite top be top bat for the visitors.

The Verdict

West Indies have not been fielding full strength sides in their recent ODI's and although they beat a poor Sri Lanka team comfortably enough and welcome some key men back into the fold, I'm open minded about the match result.

I will go with Aussie skipper Finch to top score for the visitors. Although Mitchell Marsh was easily Australia's top run scorer in the T20 series Finch did make a half century and also chipped in with a knock of 34. In the longer format he gets my vote.

My gut feel is it could be a reasonably high scoring game so additional interest comes in the shape of any century to be scored

Bets: Top Australia Bat Aaron Finch at 3/1

Century to be scored in the match? (yes) at 11/10
