Liverpool

Liverpool had to come from behind twice to draw their opening match 2-2 away to newly promoted Fulham. After trailing 1-0 at half time Nunez came off the bench to grab the first equalizer on his first Premier League start and after falling behind again Mo Salah made it 2-2. Henderson hit the woodwork late on but it was below par stuff from Liverpool.

Liverpool were unbeaten at Anfield in the EPL last season with 15 wins and 4 draws, scoring 49 goals and conceding just 9.

On the team news front Thiago Alcantara picked up an injury at Fulham that is likely to see him sidelined for a month but Naby Keita is back in the squad.

Palace

Palace started their campaign with a 2-0 defeat at home to Arsenal. They threatened an equalizer either side of half time but only 2 of 10 goal attempts were on target and the Gunners were full value for the win.

Palace won 4 of 19 road trips last season, drawing 7 and losing 8 with 23 goals scored and 29 conceded. Their stand out result was a victory at Manchester City.

James McArthur and James Tomkins remain unavailable through injury

Recent Head to Head

Last season Liverpool won this fixture 3-0 and they also won 3-1 at Selhurst Park

Liverpool have won each of the last 10 EPL head to heads

The Betting

Liverpool are currently 1 / 5 to win the game with the draw at 23/4 and Palace can be backed at 16/1

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 11/20 and it's 5/4 for both teams to score.

Salah is 3/1 to score the first goal and 4/5 to score any time

Zaha is 15/1 to score the first goal and 5/1 to score any time

The Verdict:

These sides met in pre-season overseas and Liverpool were 2-0 winners although Palace were way short of full strength. More relevant is the recent EPL history where the head to heads are dominated by Liverpool and although Klopp's side were well below their best at Fulham, anything other than a home win would be viewed as a major surprise.

Palace will look for opportunities on the break and my interest is in Sunbet's Team Stats market where I expect Liverpool to boast 65% or more of possession.

Elsewhere with the likes of Salah, Luis Diaz and hopefully Nunez on show I fancy Liverpool can draw 10 or more fouls from their opponents.

Bets: Total Ball possession (%) by Liverpool, over 64.5 at 9/10

Total Fouls conceded by Crystal Palace, over 9.5 at 11/10
