FranceEuroAnother heavyweight clash brings European Championship Group F to a conclusion on Wednesday night when Portugal and France face off in Budapest

Portugal

Heading into the final round of matches France top this group with 4 points, Germany and Portugal have 3 and Hungary 1.

Portugal started with a 3-0 win over Hungary in Budapest with all 3 goals coming from the 84th minute onwards including a brace from Ronaldo. Next time out they were in Munich to meet Germany, Ronaldo gave them the lead early on but 2 own goals had Germany in front by half time. Germany increased their advantage with 2 more goals early in the second half and although Jota got one back for Portugal they went down 4-2.

By kick off time Group F teams will know what is required to finish in one of the best third finish places and whilst topping the group is still possible for all 4 nations, that is still a factor worth bearing in mind.

In the betting to top this group Portugal are priced at around 16/1 and to win the tournament they can now be backed at around 9.5/1

France

Although they are top of the group France have given the impression they are nowhere near top gear. Whilst there was absolutely nothing wrong with a 1-0 win in Germany first up the game never really hit the heights expected and in their second outing France had to settle for a 1-1 draw in Hungary.

The winner against Germany came from an own goal and Griezmann scored a second half equalizer against Hungary but they couldn't find a winner against the group outsiders which would have likely seen them finish top of this group regardless of what happens here.

France's remain favourites to win the tournament at around 37/10 whilst they are even money to top this group with Germany, who take on Hungary in Munich, around 9/10.

The Betting

Portugal are priced at around 11/4 to win the game with the draw at 1.95/1 and France can be backed at around 5/4

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 5/4 and it's 9/10 for both teams to score.

The Verdict:

Ronaldo is doing the business for Portugal but France are finding goals much harder to come by. Whether the French can really break the shackles here is open to question as although they are as good as through to the last 16 they could still finish as low as third if they lose.

I'm going to go with exactly 2 goals in the game, an outcome which covers a number of scorelines I can envisage here.

Bets: Match goals, 2 exactly at 21/10
