DenmarkEuroEuropean Championship Group B concludes on Monday and when it comes to reaching the knockout rounds Russia and Denmark are both still in the mix as the teams prepare to face off in Copenhagen

Russia

After losing their first match of the tournament to Belgium the Russian's revived their hopes of a last 16 place with a hard earned 1-0 win over Finland in Saint Petersburg last Wednesday. Aleksey Miranchuk's goal on the stroke of half time was enough to lift Russia level on points with Finland, 3 shy of group leaders Belgium and 3 better off than Denmark who have yet to open their account.

Russia's opening match against Belgium was also staged in Saint Petersburg but home advantage counted for nothing as Belgium coasted to a 3-0 win. Although they are listed as the home side here this game is in Copenhagen and depending on how Finland get on against Belgium in the other match on this group, qualification could get quite complex.

If Russia avoid defeat they will almost certainly progress, either as runners up or in one of the best third place finish spots. If they lose, they would want Belgium to beat Finland and hope they still have enough to avoid an exit. Russia can be backed at 17/20 to make the last 16 via any method of qualification.

Denmark

Denmark have suffered defeats in both of their opening matches at this venue. The 1-0 loss to Finland first up was completely overshadowed by the collapse of Christian Eriksen just before half time with the score at 0-0 and in their second outing they lost 2-1 to Belgium.

After firing blanks against the Fins Yussuf Poulsen needed just 37 seconds to score Denmark's first goal of the tournament on Thursday but in the second half Belgium scored twice and ran out 2-1 winners. Thata sealed Belgium's place in the last 16 (but not top spot) and it leaves Denmark needing a win in this game to have any chance of a prolonged stay in the tournament.

Denmark have a -2 goal difference but if Belgium beat Finland and the Danes win here they could even snatch the runners up spot and they are odds on (17/20) to make it through by any means.

The Betting

Russia are trading at around 39/10 to win the game with the draw at 31/10 and Denmark can be backed at around 7/10

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at even money and it's the same price for both teams to score.

The Verdict:

Heading into the final group matches it's unusual to see a team with no points trading at odds on to qualify for the last 16 but that is the situation with Denmark and they might just get out of jail.

I can see plenty of pressure from Denmark and regardless of the outcome I will take them to register over 4.5 attempts on target.

Bets: Total shots on target by Denmark, over 4.5 at even money.
