Plenty of the biggest names on the European Tour are present in Dubai meaning it should be a hotly contested week of golf:-

Patrick Reed – 10.00

American Patrick Reed is always one to watch in the biggest events on tour and despite no form to speak of, he could take some stopping in favourable conditions here.

Tyrrell Hatton – 11.00

Englishman Tyrrell Hatton has enjoyed a superb season on the PGA and European Tours and a win here would cap a fantastic campaign.

Viktor Hovland – 12.00

Norwegian Viktor Hovland won well last week on the PGA Tour and he looks to be a shining light within the European game, and he will be looking to make his mark here.

Tommy Fleetwood – 14.00

Englishman Tommy Fleetwood has long been one of the biggest names on the European Tour and how he would love to finish an indifferent season in style here.

Andy Sullivan – 35.00

Englishman Andy Sullivan has won twice on the European Tour this season and he tends to enjoy the warmer climes and his performance last week in Dubai will be cause for encouragement.

1st Round Leader

Producing the goods over 72 holes is often the most difficult thing for any golfer to do therefore here are our first round leader picks:-

Matt Wallace – 28.00

Following his top 5 showing at the Golf in Dubai Championship last weekend, Matt Wallace could well be one of the front runners this weekend.

Thomas Pieters – 33.00

Belgian former Ryder Cup player Thomas Pieters has been much improved throughout 2020 and he could get off to a flyer here in conditions that are sure to suit his long game.

Martin Kaymer – 33.00

German Martin Kaymer can never be ignored in the big events and whilst he hasn’t been in great form this year – he could get off to a good start in Dubai this weekend.

Top Ten Finish

With so many quality players assembled here in Dubai, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday:-

Matt Fitzpatrick – 1.50

Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick won this event in 2016 and he looks good value to be in with a shout of lifting the trophy again come Sunday afternoon.

Victor Perez – 3.50

Frenchman Victor Perez has enjoyed a real breakthrough season on the European Tour, and he could be one to watch in a congested field this weekend.
