Tournament Preview

The combination of the European Tour and the Challenge Tour continues with the Euram Bank Open in Austria. The event was last hosted as part of the Challenge Tour in 2018 but is back with a bang as golf continues to recover from the COVID 19 pandemic. Last week’s Austrian Open was hotly contested, with Scot Marc Warren finding his way back into the winner’s circle and it promises to be a fascinating week of golf once again. With over €450,000 in the prize pot once again this week there is a significant amount of prize money is on offer and it is an event that holds plenty of prestige on the European Tour.

Betting Preview

Outright Winner

The European Tour hit the ground running last week and once again there are plenty of big names in action and looking to find form in the Austrian Alps: –

Joost Luiten – 7.00

Dutchman Joost Luiten is a serial winner on the European Tour and was in contention across all 4 days at the Austrian Open last weekend.

Adri Arnaus – 12.00

Young Spaniard Adri Arnaus is operating at his career high world ranking and despite a poor restart at the Austrian Open last weekend, he’ll be looking to pick up where he left off prior to lockdown.

John Catlin – 14.00

American John Catlin is beginning to make a few waves on the European Tour, and he finished 8th at the Austrian Open last week, including a real flourish to finish on the Sunday.

Francesco Laporta – 22.00

Two-time Challenge Tour winner Francesco Laporta is a superb operator and he should relish the favourable conditions here in the Austrian Alps.

Rikard Karlberg – 25.00

Swede Rikard Karlberg has been through a rollercoaster ride to be on the European Tour this season and he showed excellent form at the Austrian Open last week across all 4 days.

1st Round Leader

Producing the goods over 72 holes is often the most difficult thing for any golfer to do therefore here are our first round leader picks:-

Lorenzo Gagli – 33.00

Experienced Italian Lorenzo Gagli showed signs of decent form at the Austrian Open last week and he will be hoping to showcase his talents from the off this week.

Gregory Bourdy – 40.00

Frenchman Gregory Bourdy is a really solid campaigner and whilst his form in recent seasons hasn’t been great, he has the game and the mentality to get off to a very strong start here.

Marcel Siem – 45.00

Experienced German Marcel Siem has mixed it with the big boys throughout his career and although recent results haven’t been good, his strong finish at the Austrian Open last week suggests he’s in good form..

Top Ten Finish

With so many quality players assembled here in the Austria, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday:-

Scott Vincent – 2.25

Zimbabwean Scott Vincent faded badly on Sunday at the Austrian Open, but he was in good form prior to that and still managed to finish in the top 25 last time out.

Marcel Schneider – 3.00

Marcel Schneider impressed throughout the week to finish 2nd at the Austrian Open and his consistent golf is hard to bet against once again this week at the Euram Bank Open.

Sebastian Heisele – 3.50

German Sebastian Heisele looked out of sorts at the Austrian Open last weekend, but he is an excellent player and should be right in contention if he finds any modicum of form.
