What Is The QBE Shootout?
The QBE Shootout is an unofficial money event, and has been typically used as an event over the last couple of seasons to bring a close to the season. The event previously took place during the off-season, but December has been the month that this event has always taken place. This PGA Tour event has been taking place at the Tiburon Golf Club in Florida since 2001, and that will once again be where it takes place this year.
The competition is spread across three days, with the teams of two competing in the first round first. This is also called the scramble, before the greensomes, of second round takes place on the second day. The final day of the event is called the better ball, with the lowest scoring partner keeping their score for their respective team.
Fred Couples and Raymond Floyd set the record for the event back in 1990, as they recorded a score of 182. The event has been dominated by American players. American pairings have won four of the five more recent events. America’s Kevin Tway and Slovenia’s Rory Sabbatini won the event in 2019. Sean O’Hair and Steve Sticker won the event in 2017, which was a second success for both players.
Leading Teams In Betting
