Wales:

 

Wales are 3 wins from 3 and already assured of a place in the last 8. Coming into the final round they have 14 points, 3 more than Australia who are finished and 4 more than Fiji who need a point from their final match against Portugal on Sunday to join Wales in the knockout rounds. A bonus point here seals top spot for Wales and a quarter final clash with the runner up in Pool D, Argentina or Japan.

 

Wales sat our Round 4 and return to the fold having thrashed the Wallabies 40-6 last time out. They scored 3 unanswered tries and Gareth Anscombe added 23 points with the boot in a game that was priced up pretty much as “choice” by the bookmakers.

 

Wales beat Portugal 28-8 in their second match, a margin of victory was lower than the main handicap line of around 30 points. Wales opened their campaign against Fiji. The main handicap line saw them go off 5.5 point favourites and that cap proved to be accurate as they came through with a 32-26 victory, holding off a late Fijian fihgtback.

 

In the outright betting markets Wales are now trading at around 23/1 to win the RWC title with BoyleSports and they are priced at 52/10 to reach the final and 0.67/1 to reach the semi's.

 

Georgia:

 

Georgia were 18.5 point underdogs for last week's clash with Fiji. They needed to win to have any sort of chance of making the knockout rounds and at 9-0 up at half time they were on track but Fiji hit back and Georgia eventually went down 17-12.

 

Georgia were 14.5 point favourites for their second outing which came against Portugal and they were fortunate to escape with 18-18 draw whilst they lost their opening match to the Wallabies 35-15 where they were given a start in the mid 20's.

Betting Angle

 

Wales are through and Georgia cannot make the quarters so this is in effect a dead rubber although in theory Wales could lose out on top spot to Fiji if they fail to get a bonus point.

I have been impressed with the way Georgia have played and they have plenty of attacking flair and I also like this Welsh backline and I think we could get tries and points in this one.

I was considering over 6.5 tries at 11/10 but the over 50.5 points at Betxchange is 1/1 using their boost and with conditions good that is where I am heading.
