Race 1

ENGLEFIELD GREEN produced a decent debut effort over this C&D, seven weeks ago. She lost a length leaving the start, raced green and stayed on to finish fourth. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.

BEWARE THE BOMB ran a good race on debut over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She raced green but stayed on nicely at the finish. She returns from a 20-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. If not in need of this outing, she should pose a massive threat.

BACK AT THE GEORGE is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. She finished third in her previous two efforts. If fit and well, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 2

LET IT BE SAID has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He may have cost himself winning last time as he over raced in the early stages. The son of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and if Grant van Niekerk is able to switch him off early, he should go one better.

CLIFF SWALLOW was a tad disappointing over 1400m last time. He will enjoy the drop to 1250m. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he should throw out a challenge to the top choice.

GARRIX is an unraced son of Vercingetorix from the Piet Steyn stable with Richard Fourie booked to ride. He is related to four- time winner Millahue. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.

Race 3

MASTEROFTHEDESERT has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He received a bump leaving the start last time and finished off his race well. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The son of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and in this field, he can shed his maiden tag.

ARCTIC WIZARD was disappointing in his comeback run over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If finding the form of his debut run, he should be one of the leading contenders.

BLUE RIBBON DAY is a son of The United States from the Justin Snaith stable with Grant van Niekerk booked to ride. He is related to three- time winner Bavarian Beauty. If not too green, he should run a positive race. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.

Race 4

ARBITRATION was disappointing in his last start over 1400m. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. His penultimate run when fourth catches the eye. The son of Vercingetorix is bred to enjoy the rise to 1600m. He jumps from a good draw of two and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

LANDOFTHERISINGSUN was slow into stride over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish third. He has cracked a good draw of four and is a solid back up for the Justin Snaith stable.

AMANCIO ran a good race when third over 1800m on this course last time. He has finished second over this distance previously. Richard Fourie retains the ride from pole position and the combination should be competitive.

Race 5

AMONG THE CLOUDS finished 0.75 lengths behind LICKETY SPLIT last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber jumps from a good draw of three and can notch up her second-career victory.

LICKETY SPLIT fought hard for her last victory over this C&D. She meets a similar line-up this afternoon and merits healthy respect.

PRINCESS OF BAYEUX finished 3 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. She would have come on from the outing and will strip a much fitter horse.

Race 6

THE ABDICATOR produced good consistent form lines before given a 21-week break. He has won four times, finished second once and third once from eight starts over this distance. Richard Fourie rides on his return and if fit, he should be the one to beat.

CAPTAIN ARROW returns from a 27-week break which would have done him the world of good. He has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. On best form shown, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

MOJO MAN stayed on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. All three of his career victories have come over this trip. The son of Rafeef merits healthy respect.

Race 7

SILVER SCREEN showed good speed when winning her last start over this C&D. She received a two-pound penalty for that victory. Richard Fourie steps into the saddle and from her good draw of four, she can follow up.

WILLIAM WEST finished 0.5 lengths behind SWIFT ACTION last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He finished 4.45 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

BLUFF ON BLUFF finished 2.1 lengths behind SWIFT ACTION in his last start. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this C&D. He will strip much fitter and cannot be ignored.

Race 8

BABELICIOUS followed up her maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She returns from a 12-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Var is at her best over this distance and if not in need of this outing, she should be the one to beat.

ROCKING PEONIE stayed on nicely when fourth over 1250m last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If getting away to a clean start, she should fight out the finish.

LADY LOXTON has not finished too far off the winner in her last three starts. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Vercingetorix must be included in all bets.

Race 9

CAPTAIN WEST was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over 1250m on this course. He showed good speed and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of One World takes on stronger but he is progressive and should be up to the task at hand. Luyolo Mxothwa is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the wide draw and he may be hard to peg back.

WE HAVE TOUCHDOWN followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1250m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last outing has come out and won since. He is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.

RADICCHIO was caught late when second over this C&D last time. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and may be hard to catch
