Race 1
BOOGIEFIED produced an encouraging debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He showed good pace, understandably raced green and found one too good in the form of Meu Capitano. The son of Justify found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.
IN THE BAG was in need of his debut effort against winners over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He would have come on from the run and should love the extra 250m on offer. Aldo Domeyer takes the ride and the son of Gimmethegreenlight should make the natural progression.
MAGIC VERSE is an unraced son of Vercingetorix from the Justin Snaith stable with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle. He is related to multiple winners including Miss Katalin and Magic Vision. If not too green in running, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.
Race 2
SUN SPECTACULAR has produced two decent efforts to date. The daughter of Master Of My Fate stayed on well at the finish last time and should love the extra 50m on offer. She is a progressive type and Grant van Niekerk may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
NORDIC QUEST ran a fair race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1250m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should pose a massive threat.
PRINCESS IZZY finished 2.5 lengths behind the second choice on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
Race 3
CANDY TOWN ran a good race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She showed good pace and may have cost herself winning as she hung inwards in the closing stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and if keeping on a straight line, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
LOOK FORWARD has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. Grant van Niekerk retains the ride and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
HANGING ROCK showed some improvement in her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is a progressive type and from her good draw of two, she should have more to come. She is carded to race on 29 July 2023 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 4
WINTER RAINFALL was ultra-impressive when winning her maiden at the second time of asking over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The manner in which she quickened up at the 150m mark was eye- catching. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of What A Winter takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
PORQUE TE VAS showed good speed when winning her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The cheekpieces have done the trick on the daughter of Querari. She may be hard to peg back from pole position.
WHERE‘S THE PARTY was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She finished 1.5 lengths behind the second choice in her penultimate run. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
Race 5
GIMMETHELIMELIGHT showed good improvement when second in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She raced from a handy position and found a good kick in the closing stages. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight will strip a much fitter horse. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of eight, she should go one better.
CHARLENE showed good improvement when third in her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the extra furlong on offer. The daughter of Futura may have more to come.
BLIND FAITH ran a good race when third over 1200m last time. She has finished fourth over this distance in the past and from pole position, she should earn another cheque for her patrons.
Race 6
KAMAKAZI showed very good improvement when winning her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The daughter of Captain Of All raced from just off the pace, found a good kick where it matters most and held all challengers at bay. She should have no issues with the rise to 1400m. She does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
AMONG THE CLOUDS won a good race when shedding her maiden tag over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber should have no issues with the step up to 1400m. She jumps from a good draw of three and is one of the leading contenders.
SEEKING PEACE was running on when second over 1100m last time. Her record over this distance is a concern, but she is in a good space and cannot be ignored.
Race 7
CAPTIVE MOON stayed on when third over 1400m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Flower Alley would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He carries a handy galloping mass of 53kgs and should be competitive.
KIMBALL O’HARA finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D and will be staying on.
MR FROSTIE showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 1000m. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The 6yo gelding should finish in the placings in this line-up
