Top Bet For Today

Race 2: QUEEN OF SPARTA (9)
Jockey: A Domeyer – Trainer: C Bass Robinson

QUEEN OF SPARTA raced from a prominent position and stayed on to finish third in her last start over 1200m at Kenilworth. Her penultimate run when finishing second behind Butterfly Beauty catches the eye. She jumps from a good draw of two on her course debut and if not too green, should be the horse to beat.

Race 3: WAR BANNER (1)
Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: E Sands

WAR BANNER’S last three starts at Kenilworth have been good. Richard Fourie who finished second aboard him in his penultimate run returns to the saddle. If not too green around the turn, he should go close to winning.

Race 4: PERILLA (8)
Jockey: G Cheyne – Trainer: C Bass-Robinson

PERILLA has shown improvement in each of her outings to date. She raced from a handy position over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Quickstep. She comes into this race with a handy galloping mass of 55kgs and Greg Cheyne may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Race 5: PAS DE NOM (11)
Jockey: De Melo K – Trainer: Kannemeyer D

PAS DE NOM was doing his best work late when finishing second behind Royal Aussie over 1400m at Kenilworth last time. The son of Rafeef will love the rise to the mile and should strip much fitter. He does have a wide draw of eleven to contend with, but Keagan de Melo knows him well and he should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Value Bet For Today

Race 8: VAN HUNKS (1)
Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: J Snaith

VAN HUNKS is better than his last start over 1600m at Kenilworth. He returns from an 11-week break, during which time he was gelded. He has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. The gelding may have done the trick on the son of Silvano and he has ability. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and the pair will be mowing down the frontrunners
