RACE 1

FREDERICOS PASSION produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on this course, four weeks ago. He raced from just off the pace and rallied late to finish second. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He should have no issues with the drop to 1000m and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.

FIRST WISH ran a fair race on debut over 1200m. She lost a length leaving the start, but finished her race off well. The drop to 1000m is a slight concern but she has scope, and should give the males a run for their money.

NIKES RAY OF LIGHT should have finished closer to the winner over 1400m last time. He gets the services of a 4kgs claiming apprentice and the blinkers should sharpen him up. He is having his peak run and can finish in the placings.

RACE 2

FANTASY GIRL was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1000m. She should have finished closer as she hung inwards throughout. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Global View will love the rise to 1400m and if keeping on a straight line, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

GINGER PALACE showed good improvement in her last start over 1600m on this course. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. Craig Zackey retains the ride and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

EXTRACTION ran a fair race on the polytrack last time. Her penultimate effort when third over 1200m on this course, was encouraging. The 1400m should be right up her alley and she cannot be ignored.

RACE 3

SEPTEMBER FLOWER produced an encouraging debut effort over 1000m on the Polytrack. She lost a length leaving the start, but finished off her race nicely. The daughter of One World would have come on from the outing and should love the extra 100m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.

TARTAN QUEEN finished 0.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

STRING OF LIGHTS has shown good improvement in her last two starts on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in her last outing has come out and won since. The daughter of Global View will be staying on at the finish.

RACE 4

This is a competitive Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is SPECMAGIC from the Kelly Mitchley stable. He raced from a handy position over 1600m last time, moved up like a winner but was caught late by To The Hilt. The son of Potala Palace finished third in his only C&D attempt. He jumps from pole position once again and can go one better.

KING OF QUEEN has finished second in his last five starts. The son of What A Winter has been costly to follow. With a bit of luck in running, he may be rewarded for consistency.

STATESMAN showed good improvement in his local debut over 1200m on the polytrack. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should love the extra furlong on offer and he may have more to come.

Race 5

SLAINTE MHATH finished 1.6 lengths behind ALADO’S PRIDE last time. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 2400m. He carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and may be the one to side with.

HAROLD THE DUKE finished 1.5 lengths behind ALADO’S PRIDE in the race referred to above. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

JUAN CARLOS was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and can follow up.

Race 6

SCAMPTON set the pace over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish fourth. The son of Lancaster Bomber takes a drop in class and from his good draw of three, he may be hard to peg back.

LAUNCH CODE ran on well when winning his last start over this distance on the Polytrack. He received a three- pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and should pose a massive threat.

FUJISAN won a good race in his last start over this distance on the polytrack. S’manga Khumalo who won on him that day has opted to ride the second choice.

RACE 7

FOR ALL WE KNOW was an easy winner of her last start over this distance on the Polytrack. She returns from a 12-week break which would have done her the world of good. She has won twice, finished second once and third three times from nine starts on this course. If not in need of this outing, she should be the one to beat.

TREASURE HUNT’S last three starts have been fair. She finished second in both her career efforts over this C&D. Apprentice Nirvan Nastili takes the 4kgs off her back which will assist her cause.

UNYIELDING stayed on when fifth over this distance on the Polytrack last time. Two of her three career victories have come over this C&D. She is back in Handicap Company and should be competitive.

RACE 8

FOREST SPY showed good guts and determination when winning his last start over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. Yuzae Ramzan retains the ride and the pair can follow up.

SIBERIAN STEEL rallied late when second over 1200m on the Polytrack last time. Three of his four career victories have come over this distance. He takes a drop in class and despite his big mass of 61.5kgs, he should feature.

CAPTAIN TIK TOK finished 4 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
