ROMANOFF showed very good improvement in her last start over 1300m on this course. She raced from a handy position, but was outrun in the latter stages. That was her first start with the blinkers fitted which seem to have done the trick. The daughter of Alado tries the mile and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should shed her maiden tag.

Jockey: L Mxothwa – Trainer: S Kotzen
PACIFIC DUKE set the pace in his last start, but was outrun in the latter stages. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. He meets a similar type of field today and if switching off early, he may be hard to peg back.

TWICE TO HEAVEN has good consistent form lines to her credit. She took on males in the Racing Association Plate, but found one too good in the form of Norton Sound. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Twice Over has won once and finished third once from as many starts on this course. She takes a drop back in class and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should be the one to beat.

CAPERNAUM ran a good race when finishing third over 2000m on this course last time. He set the pace and stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of Querari drops in class and should be cherry-ripe. If seeing out the 2200m, he should notch up his third career victory
