RACE 1
SWISS WALT showed good speed over this C&D last time, but was caught late by Pisces. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Luyolo Mxothwa retains the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
RAPTOR ISLAND went quick in a work riders contest last time, but was caught late. He would have come on from the run and Muzi Yeni may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
GREY SMOKE rallied late when second over this C&D last time. He cost himself winning that day as he hung in the closing stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If keeping on a straight line, he should go close to winning.
RACE 2
WILDEST DREAMS is better than her last start in male company as she cut throats up front. The daughter of Dynasty is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. If Kendall Minnie is able to switch her off early, she may be the one to side with.
ZIPPY OVER was running on when third over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. If all went well with her travels, she can notch up her fourth career victory.
DEFINITELY MAYBE was a tad disappointing in the Listed Jockey Club Stakes last time. Her three efforts prior to that outing were good. Aldo Domeyer does duty and if putting her best foot forward, she should be competitive.
RACE 3
PUBLIC BENEFIT followed up her maiden win with a hard fought victory over 1600m on the polytrack. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the rise to 2000m. This is her first run in a Handicap, she is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.
KEEP THE FORT finished 3 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
HEY SIRI has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last start has come out and won since. She won her only attempt over this C&D. She takes a drop-in class and merits inclusion.
RACE 4
AMAZING COLOURS has finished second in her last five starts. She stayed on at the finish over 1200m on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Hasta Lavista Baby. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The 1400m should be right up her alley and she may be rewarded for consistency.
ST CLOUD showed some improvement in her last start over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. The drop to 1400m is a slight concern, but if settled into her new surroundings, she should pose a threat.
DAWN OF GOLD ran a fair race over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She is making her local debut and can show improvement.
RACE 5
EKORIA was slow into stride in the Listed East Cape Breeders Stakes last time, stayed on at the finish but found one too good in the form of Phedra. She returns from a 12-week break which may have done her the world of good. She has won twice and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. The services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Kobeli Lihaba will assist her cause.
THREE ROCKS showed pace and fought back well to win her last start over 1000m on the polytrack. The daughter of Heavenly Blue tries the 1200m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can win again.
HUNTING TRIP was a tad disappointing in the Listed Milkwood Stakes last time. She returns from a 17- week break which may have done her the world of good. If not in need of this outing, she should be competitive.
Race 6
GRAZINGINTHEGRASS is a winner of his last five starts. He fought hard for his last victory in the Listed Memorial Mile. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this distance. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride and the son of Philanthropist can win again.
BUSH TRACKER ran on well when winning his last start over this distance on the polytrack, with top weight. He finished 0.25 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate start. He is 1kg worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result.
WARRIOR was in need of his comeback run over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He is the class horse in the race and from pole position, he is capable of returning to best form.
RACE 7
JOY AND PEACE should have finished closer to the winner last time as she had to be switched for running room at the 300m mark. She would have come on from that outing and should strip much fitter. Aldo Domeyer takes the ride from barrier two and with luck in running, she should be the one to beat.
TRIED AND TRUE showed good improvement in her last start over this distance on the polytrack. She takes a slight drop-in class and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
ILHA DA MAURICIA stayed on at the finish over 1600m on the polytrack last time. She won her only attempt over this C&D. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from her wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
RACE 8
IRONTAIL raced wide around the turn over 1300m on the polytrack last time, but stayed on at the business end. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The 6yo gelding is having his first run for the Sharon Kotzen stable. He has dropped to a competitive rating and from his good draw of three, he can notch up his fourth career victory.
FIERY DUKE rallied late when second over 1300m on the polytrack last time. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Duke Of Marmalade runs well for Muzi Yeni and the combination should be involved at the finish
GUNSMOKE held on where it matters most to win his last start over 1600m on this course. He is in a good space and against similar company, he can follow up
