RACE 1

WINTER IN PARIS produced a decent local debut effort over this C&D. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she hung outwards in the final 200m. It must be noted that the horse that finished second has come out and won since. The daughter of What A Winter gets the blinkers fitted which should keep her mind on the task at hand. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

MISS PRIOR has finished third in her last four starts. The daughter of Horizon is the stable elect with Craig Zackey in the saddle. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

SWEET CAKE returns from a 12-week break which may have done her the world of good. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie is booked to ride. If putting her best foot forward, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 2

OH MANDY cost herself winning last time as she lost a length leaving the start. However, the manner in which she ran on at the finish was eye-catching. The daughter of Rafeef will love racing on this course with the longer run-in. She gets the blinkers fitted and from her good draw of two, she may be the one to beat.

FIRE ALARM ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. She returns from a 16- week break and would have strengthened up. She is drawn widest of all in barrier 14, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

GLOBAL SCENE fought hard over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Ms Patty. Chase Maujean has opted to ride the top choice which says a lot. The daughter of Global View is a solid back up for the Tara Laing stable.

RACE 3

ONO NO KOMACHI has fair form lines to her credit. She returns from a 10-week break and is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. The daughter of One World carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and if settled into her new surroundings, she should be involved at the finish.

GRAND OASIS ran a good race when second over 1600m on the polytrack last time. He set the pace before getting outrun late by Oliver Twist. If confirming his recent improvement, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

SILVERY SURFER showed improvement in his last start over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Global View will love the rise to 1400m and with luck from the widest draw, he should have more to come.

RACE 4

MONTELENA stayed on when fourth over 1000m on this course last time. She dead-heated with WOMAN OF POWER in her penultimate run. The daughter of The United States is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and she can notch up her fourth-career victory.

CATCH YOUR BREATH was running on too late when fifth over 1600m on this course last time. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is the stable elect with Richard Fourie retaining the ride and she is one of the leading contenders.

HIGHLYCONFIDENTIAL hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. She ran a fair race when fifth against male company over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight should have no issues with the rise to 1400m and she can earn a cheque for her patrons.

Race 5

FREE WORLD’S last three starts have been decent. She showed some signs of needing her last run and would have come on a lot from the outing. The daughter of Rafeef drops back in class and will strip a much fitter horse. Sandile Khathi is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

STRING OF LIGHTS followed up her maiden victory with a good third- place finish over 1200m on the polytrack. She has finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Global View is a solid back-up for the Duncan McKenzie stable.

SMASHING is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and if settled into her new surroundings, she should feature.

Race 6

CAPTAIN TIK TOK ran on well when second over this C&D last time. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this C&D. He returns from another 16-week break and if not in need of the run, he may be the one to beat in this field.

IMPACT INVESTOR has been disappointing in recent outings. He has dropped in the ratings and can show good improvement in this line-up.

TUSCAN GOLD held on where it matters most when winning his last start over this distance on the polytrack. He received a two-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Visionaire gets the services of a 4kgs claiming apprentice which will assist his cause.

RACE 7

BOURNEMOUTH stayed on when fifth in the Listed Betway Algoa Cup last time. He finished 2.5 lengths behind Firealley that day. He is 5kgs better off at the weights this afternoon and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. If jumping on terms, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

FIREALLEY is better than his last start over 1900m on the polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Despite his big mass of 62kgs, he should be right there.

HAN SOLO is better than his last start in the Grade 3 Glorious Goodwood Chairman’s Cup. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts on this course. If all went well with his travels, he should be competitive.

RACE 8

MAKHACHEV finished 1.25 lengths behind EL ROMIACHI last time. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Red Ray has a wide draw to overcome, but Muzi Yeni should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle. He may be the one to side with.

DYNALLEY finished 2.5 lengths behind EL ROMIACHI last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

EL ROMIACHI is in a good space. He stayed on when third over 1400m on this course last time. Eight of his ten career victories have come over this distance. He is drawn in pole position and if jumping on terms, he should be involved at the finish
